Island paradise Bornholm (from/to Stralsund)

Fantastically beautiful! - Scandinavian landscapes with southern flair

After unforgettably beautiful Rügentour "To Rügens castles and mansions” waren We were curious to see whether the subsequent tour, "Big Bornholm Tour 02", would be nearly as nice. In fact, this tour was fantastic too! Our transfer from Sassnitz to the Mukran ferry port was just as perfect as the pick-up at the Rönne ferry port on Bornholm. The employees of Mecklenburger Bicycletour on Rügen and then on Bornholm waren extremely accommodating and instructed us very well about how to proceed before and after the ferry ride and the luggage transport worked again absolutely reliably. Bornholm is ideal for exploring by bike. The cycle path network is first class and the routes waren very well described in the very informative travel documents. The sea views are magnificent and the drives through Hammeren, a beautiful nature reserve in the north, and the forest of Almindingen in the interior of the island, are refreshing. The north of the island invites you to take a walk and linger on the picturesque coast. The fields of chives in purple bloom waren a fantastically beautiful sight and a wonderful contrast to the steel-blue sky and the beautiful flower meadows and fields. Dueodde beach impressed us with its size and fine white sand and is just as worth seeing as the four round churches, symbols of Bornholm. The trip along the coast between Gudhjem and Sandkas with the impressive Helligdomsklipperne, the art museum and a fabulous view of the always turquoise shimmering sea is unforgettable. The small fishing villages and the fish smokehouses and handicraft workshops located there, especially in Gudhjem, are picturesque. It's worth a visit! Particularly noteworthy is the ice cream shop in Svaneke, the "Ismejri". The waffles are made in-house and the ice cream flavors are made from regional ingredients whenever possible. A real treat! Bornholm showed its best side throughout the tour and in all accommodation (Hotel Griffen Rönne, Hotel Friheden Sandkas and Hotel Siemsens Gaard) we felt very well looked after. The accommodations convinced with their fantastically beautiful location by the sea, very good and beautiful facilities, hospitality and culinary delights. We enjoyed every moment of this tour. Accordingly, it was difficult for us to say goodbye to this little paradise. The many beautiful experiences are unforgettable and the photos confirm the beauty of this dreamlike tour.
