The cycle tour on the Danube between Passau and Vienna is one of the most popular tours in all of Europe! And rightly so: thanks to the flat stages and well-signposted paths, the cycle tour is also ideal for families and beginners. The cycle tour on the Danube finally ends in the heart of the cosmopolitan city of Vienna, where artists, emperors and composers have set the pace in Europe for centuries.

Day 1: Arrival - Schärding/Passau
Individual arrival either in the baroque town of Schärding am Inn or in the three-river town of Passau. Please be sure to state your desired overnight stay when booking! Otherwise Schärding will be booked automatically.
Day 2: Schärding/Passau – Upper Danube valley, approx. 30 - 60 km
From Schärding you cycle along the Inn Cycle Path to Passau, where you can visit the largest cathedral organ in the world. The next highlight awaits you further east, the Engelszell Abbey, the only Trappist monastery in Austria.
Day 3: Upper Danube Valley – Linz about 50 - 65 km
Today's first highlight is the Schlögener Donauschlinge, where the granite forces the river to form an extremely tight loop. At Aschach the valley widens and you cycle through the fertile Eferding Basin. The baroque Wilhering Abbey invites you to take a break before you reach the cultural city of Linz.
Day 4: Linz – Ardagger/Grein about 50 - 65 km
After Linz you will again pass through rural towns and regions. The shipping town of Grein attracts its visitors with the Greinburg Castle, the oldest municipal theater in Austria and the Maritime Museum.
Day 5: Ardagger/Grein – Wachau about 40 - 70 km
Drive through the wild and romantic Strudengau to the old Roman town of Ybbs. This is where the gentle landscape of the Nibelungengau begins and from afar you can see the Maria Taferl pilgrimage church, which towers over the Danube valley. In Melk you should visit the Benedictine monastery and the idyllic places in the Wachau invite you to rest.
Day 6: Wachau - Traismauer/ Tulln approx. 55 - 75 km
Today you will experience what is probably the most beautiful part of your journey, the picturesque Wachau. Passing emerald-green vines you reach Dürnstein. If you want, you can also travel part of the way through the Wachau by boat. Worth seeing is the Kremshe old town with its arcaded courtyards and baroque town houses. You will soon reach your destination in the Traismauer/Tulln area.
Day 7: Traismauer/ Tulln – Vienna about 35 - 65 km
Shortly before Vienna, the valley narrows again, the Danube passes through the Vienna Gate on the edge of the Vienna Woods and takes you via Klosterneuburg to the cosmopolitan city of Vienna, famous for its coffee house culture and its numerous sights.
