Overnight place: Bad Schandau
The first destination is the Schrammsteine rock formation with its wonderful view. After enjoying the expansive panorama and descending into the Kirnitzsch Valley, a short detour of about 700 meters to the Lichtenhain Waterfall and an afternoon coffee is worthwhile. You will then return to Bad Schandau by bus.
You take the Elbe ferry to Krippen and then begin a hike that takes you to the left of the Elbe to the Papststein and Gohrisch table mountains. The highlight of the hiking tour is certainly the visit to the Königstein Fortress. The “Invincible” towers high above the city of the same name and offers all sorts of history to discover. We return to Bad Schandau by S-Bahn in the late afternoon.
On today's hike you will experience the breathtaking rocks from the water as you take the boat to Wehlen (included). You hike up to the famous Bastei with the Bastei Bridge and the Neurathen rock castle. Enjoy the view in all directions before you descend back into the Elbe valley to the health resort of Rathen. You can return to Bad Schandau by S-Bahn.
On a section of the varied Malerweg you hike through the Rear Saxon Switzerland. Shortly before your destination today, you climb up to the Großer Winterberg, which at 556 meters is the
is the second highest mountain in Saxon Switzerland. From Schmilka you take the train back to your overnight location.
