The old salt town of Lüneburg is a nice starting point for exploring the Lüneburg Heath region and the Elbe between Hamburg and Boitzenburg. The old salt road or themed bike path through the heath or around Lüneburg offer ideal conditions for exploring the beautiful side by bike. The core area of the Lüneburg Heath around the Wilseder Berg is also within reach with the free cyclist bus and invites you to take a tour of this idyllic part of the heath.
Today's bike tour offers two main themes on your journey to Bad Uelzen. The total one-way route to Bad Uelzen is approx. 34 km. You can also cycle this tour shortened as a round tour in a route combination of the monastery route Welfen route and a trip along the Elbe side canal.
Overnight place: Lüneburg
The Heide Shuttle runs between Lüneburg and Döhne not far from the Wilseder Berg. A core area of the Lüneburg Heath can thus be reached from Lüneburg. The bus will take you from the Lüneburg bus station to Döhne on your own. From Döhle you start your tour around the Wilseder Berg through this scenically very picturesque part of the Lüneburg Heath. 34 km at Wilseder Berg. plus travel from the hotel to the Lüneburg bus station, approx. 7,0 km each way. With the Heide Shuttle back to Lüneburg. If the bus doesn't run, we recommend a round trip to the Elbe landscape between Bleckede and Lauenburg. The Lauenburg-Lüneburg train journey is under our own management.
Overnight place: Lüneburg
Short way to Bardowick. The small town has an impressive cathedral from the 14th century, designed as a bishop's seat, but not used as such. You cycle around the rural area west of Lüneburg on tranquil paths to Melbeck. On the way back follow the Ilmright into the heart of the city and through it back to your hotel.
Overnight place: Lüneburg
Today's tour takes you first along the Elbe side canal to Lauenburg in Holstein. You cross the Elbe and cycle to Geesthacht on the Schleswig-Holstein side. There you cross the Elbe again and cycle through the flat country to Odershausen Ilmenau, which you follow back to Lüneburg.
Overnight place: Lüneburg
