Welcome to Stockholm, the Swedish capital and starting point of your 8-day bike tour. You travel there on your own and have the rest of the day free to explore the city. Stockholm offers an impressive combination of historical sights and modern city life. Stroll through the picturesque old town of Gamla Stan, visit the Royal Palace or discover the numerous museums, such as the ABBA Museum or the Vasa Museum. In the evening, relax in your comfortable 4-star hotel before your adventure begins the next morning.

Your first bike tour takes you from Stockholm along a centuries-old trade route that was already used by the Vikings. After about 14 kilometers you will reach the magnificent Drottningholm Palace, the residence of the Swedish royal couple and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is worth a visit here (optional) to explore the baroque architecture and beautiful gardens. You continue via Ekerö, where you will enjoy an idyllic ferry ride before reaching Södertälje. Today you can enjoy a scenic round trip to Sweden's largest lake island, Selaön. You will pass the charming village of Stallarholmen, where you can take a break and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. The route continues to the baroque Mälsåker Castle, an architectural gem on the shores of Lake Mälaren. After the visit (optional), you will continue your cycling tour on the "Näckrosleden", a popular cycling path, and finally return to Mariefred. You continue your cycling tour on the "Näckrosleden" which takes you through beautiful landscapes and small villages. Your destination today is Gnesta, a charming village known for its Swedish architecture and peaceful atmosphere. You will stay at the magnificent Södertuna Castle, a luxurious 18th century property known for its stylish interior and idyllic lakeside location. Here you can enjoy the peaceful surroundings and stay overnight in a unique historical setting.

Today's stage takes you through picturesque landscapes, past art galleries, manor houses and numerous opportunities for refreshing swim breaks. The route ends in the idyllic coastal town of Trosa, known for its red wooden houses, narrow streets and picturesque waterfront location. Stroll along the Trosaå River and let yourself be enchanted by the relaxed atmosphere of the harbor. In the evening, you will spend the night in one of the town's charming hotels, such as Trosa Stadshotell & Spa or Bergs Gård.

On your last day of cycling, you will head north from Trosa across the island of Mörkö. Enjoy the fresh sea breeze and the views of the surrounding landscapes. After a short ferry ride, you will reach Tumba, from where you will take the train (optional) to Stockholm. Alternatively, you can get off in Södermalm and cycle the last few kilometers to actively complete your trip through Sweden. Back in Stockholm, you have the option to continue exploring the capital or enjoy your last evening in one of the many restaurants.

Arrival to Stockholm

Airplane
The fastest and most comfortableemsThe only way to get to Stockholm is by plane. Stockholm-Arlanda Airport (ARN) is the largest airport in the region and is served by many international and domestic airlines. Once you arrive, you have several options to get to the city center:

  • Zug: The Arlanda Express takes you to the heart of Stockholm, to Stockholm Central Station, in just 20 minutes.
  • Bus: The Flygbussarna bus offers regular connections between the airport and various points in Stockholm, including the central bus station and the central station.
  • Taxi: Taxis are also available, but costs may vary depending on your destination and traffic conditions.

Zug
If you are already in Europe, you can also easily travel to Stockholm by train. Stockholm Central Station is well connected to the European railway network. From cities in Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands and Austria There are regular train connections that take you directly to the heart of the city.

Cars
For those travelling by car, Sweden offers a well-developed road network. The E4 motorway leads directly to Stockholm and connects the city with the rest of the country.
