Welcome to this fantastic cycling tour along the Costa Blanca! Here, the sun, sand, and mountains of Alicante meet a breathtaking landscape. You'll visit the most picturesque spots on the Mediterranean coast with their beautiful terraces, where you can savor traditional regional dishes. The route takes you through ancient Roman settlements near the beach. Admire the typical traditional buildings with their arcades and elegant architecture. Discover the world of wine. Cycle along stunning beaches and be charmed by the friendliness of the locals. An unforgettable blend of tradition, culture, scenery, cuisine, and people.

Transfer from Alicante Airport to Altea (included in the price). Enjoy Altea, a seaside town whose promenade is quiet in winter but incredibly lively in spring and summer with its many chiringuitos (beach bars). Don't miss Altea's old town. The historic quarter rises against the imposing backdrop of the Sierra Bernia mountains and offers breathtaking panoramic views. The town of Altea sits atop a hill, its highest point marked by the bell tower of the parish church of Virgen di Consuelo and a large, blue-and-white tiled dome, as well as a second dome topped by a smaller cupola. From the square in front of the church, you can see the entire region.

Accommodation location: Altea

Today you'll experience the fascinating contrast between the coast and the fields and mountains of the interior. Enjoy the fantastic views of the Alicante coastline and the imposing mountains, rising over 1400 meters in the background. You'll explore a traditional wine-growing region, cycling between vineyards and the typical "riu raus"—those characteristic buildings with arched rows of arches where locals used to dry their grapes for sultanas and raisins. Finally, you'll reach the historic town of Xàbia, which boasts some of Alicante's most beautiful beaches. The longer tour includes a visit to Cabo la Nao (with its magnificent views).

You'll travel along the Montgó Mountains to Dénia. Along the way, you'll see traditional buildings called Riu Raus (18th century). These buildings were once crucial for drying grapes. Some are now used for other purposes, such as open-air markets. Finally, Dénia awaits you by the sea. This town boasts numerous beautiful, tranquil beaches that you can enjoy even in winter when the sun is shining. Dénia was designated a UNESCO Creative City in 2015 due to the quality and variety of its excellent local cuisine. Enjoy!

Leaving Denia, you soon encounter small remnants of marshland known as marjals – a popular nesting ground for birds and a paradise for birdwatchers. You travel along sections of the old railway line built by the British in the 19th century. Not far now! After a few more kilometers, you reach the pretty coastal town of Gandia with its interesting old town and the Ducal Palace.

The day begins with a drive past orange groves before you encounter small remnants of marshland, known as marjals – a popular nesting ground for birds and a paradise for birdwatchers. The route leads into a picturesque valley, where you follow part of the pilgrimage route that once connected various monasteries. Here you have the opportunity to explore the imposing Simat de la Valldigna Monastery. Passing through rice paddies, you reach Cullera, a coastal town with stunning sea views, where you can sample some of the regional rice specialties. The town boasts numerous beaches that can be enjoyed even in winter when the sun is shining.

If you choose the longer route, you'll start along the Xúquer River, whose waters irrigate the many fertile fields and groves of the entire region. You'll enter the Albufera Natural Park, one of the most valuable ecosystems in the Mediterranean. Marvel at the diverse natural landscapes, including lakes, marshes, dunes, and pine forests along the coast. Each of these ecosystems is home to its own unique flora and fauna. It's well worth trying one of the typical dishes of this special area. Stroll along the harbor and watch the fishermen at work before returning to picturesque El Palmar. Once in Valencia, explore the impressive old town with its cathedral and central market – a truly cathedral-like market! The narrow streets and squares, with their numerous cafes, bars, and restaurants, are an absolute must-see. Food lovers will be in their element here. The city's nightlife is also renowned.
