Start your bike tour in the medieval town of Rothenburg, just a few kilometers from the source of the Altmühl. You cycle through the Altmühltal Nature Park and past the Altmühlsee, which invites you to jump into the cool water, and discover a landscape of unique beauty. The city of Eichstätt is a baroque work of art. You end your tour back in Rothenburg.

Individual arrival. On the first evening you can take a walk with the Rothenburg night watchman.
Overnight place: Rothenburg od Tauber
You cycle through the upper Altmühltal to Herrieden, where you can still feel the medieval atmosphere. Before you reach your stage destination Gunzenhausen, the wonderful Altmühlsee invites you to take a dip in the cool water.

The Altmühltal nature park opens up a landscape of unique beauty. In Eichstätt marvel at the baroque splendor of the former prince-bishop town.
Overnight place: Eichstätt region
The cycle tour to Beilngries leads through the nature reserve of the Gungoldinger Wacholderheide. The historic old town is surrounded by a well-preserved city wall.
Overnight place: ax grits
Today's bike tour takes you to Plankstetten Monastery. Try a glass of schnapps from our own distillery. Along the Main-Danube Canal takes you to the castle town of Hilpoltstein. At the nearby Rothsee, bathing enthusiasts can relax on the well-kept lawns.
Overnight place: Hilpoltstein/Roth
This stage of the Franconian Water Cycle Path leads along the Castle Road from the Franconian Lake District to Romantic Franconia. Via the minnesinger town of Wolframs-Eschenbach, with its completely preserved town wall, you will reach Ansbach.
Overnight place: Ansbach
On the following section of the route, the Franconian Water Cycle Path inspires with numerous historical discoveries. After Colmberg with its imposing castle you cycle through the hilly foothills of the Frankenhöhe back to Rothenburg.
