Pure nature
A wonderful cycling tour through die Mecklenburger - Lake District.

Impression of a trip by bicycle
We were very fortunate to do this tour in glorious weather. We were surprised that the terrain is rather hilly.

Very nice tour
The route of the tour is very well planned. You come through areas that you would never have reached otherwise. An improvement: On the route from Neustrelitz to Canow, at least the first part of roads through the terrain should be omitted. The "mountain rating" is not necessary - no gain in terms of view, landscape, etc., otherwise: everything ok

Great vacation and pure nature
It was our first cycling holiday and probably not the last. The tour is great. Many beautiful lakes where you can just jump in with the best weather we had. Beautiful cycle paths, yes ok, sometimes cobblestones, but the great paths outweigh. From time to time across the forest on forest paths, very varied. The route through the national park is a highlight. The tours are the right length, so that you have enough time to stop to swim or go canoeing, which is often offered. There is a lot to see at various locks on the canals. If you like forest, water and ships, this is the place for you. Luggage transport worked very well and the travel documents and description of the route are very well prepared. We had our own bikes with us.

An all-round successful bike tour
An all-round successful bike tour. We were very satisfied.

Around Müritz and Plauersee
All accommodations were good and clean, there was a generous breakfast buffet everywhere and friendly staff. Hotel Lindengarten and Hotel am Fleesensee were super nice, you would love to stay longer. The cuisine at Hotel Fackelgarten was first class. Great rooms at Hotel Müritzterrasse, but unfortunately the cuisine leaves a lot to be desired (evening meals). The bear forest is recommended, and "four paws" are a household name in Switzerland too. We will be happy to book our next cycling holiday with you again and will recommend you to others.

A special experience...
... This bike tour was 'special' in a multiple sense... ;-) We are experienced touring and sports riders (Alpine crossings, Midwest of the USA, Rwanda, South Africa, France (Provence, Loire, Atlantic), Spain (Bordeaux-Santiago de Compostela-Cap Finistere)...
This tour was the second organized one of our lives. So we have a comparison with both (mostly) self-organized tours and with a tour organized by (another) provider.
We did this tour with our recumbent tandem (without 'e-'). What is particularly challenging here is that quite a few sections are absolutely unsuitable for this... (Single trails, deep sandy areas, roots running across and along the road, steep climbs, cobbled roads (with thick pebbles...) ...
The GPS tracks provided obviously come from third-party sources: 'AllTrails' and 'Gpsies' (taken over by 'AllTrails' in 2019). The tracks are not completely up to date, but apart from two places they are very usable. Apart from the elevation profile; that was 'particularly' useless. The answer to a telephone inquiry in advance: "everything is completely flat, no inclines..." From my local history class 55 years ago, I knew that this couldn't be true from a purely geological/earth history perspective... A correction of the elevation profile using topographical maps showed that it is 'rideable' with the recumbent tandem (is usually very fast, except for steep climbs).
The printed maps provided, including descriptions of the landscapes and sights, are appropriate and sufficient. However, there is still some room for improvement... The large folding map is great, but not particularly useful when on the road: (1) the route to be taken is not marked/highlighted... and (2) too cumbersome to handle while driving.
The spiral booklet is practical, but incomplete in one 'special' point; it only shows sections of the route (places, turns, etc.). However, if you have lost your way or a section is not available or you have to change your route because of an unsuitable route (sand, single trail, ... so) choose a different route yourself, you lose the overview...
The hotels were all great. My wife and I had different ideas about what each of us liked, so we'll just say 'global': we felt 'particularly' comfortable everywhere. Sometimes it was the location, sometimes it was the breakfast, sometimes it was the special friendliness of the hotel staff, sometimes it was the large swimming pool, ... We have never had such hotels on our other tours... (either tent or private guesthouse or pilgrim hostel).
And for the first time we had luggage transport. We hadn't read that before... A 'special' service that we gratefully accepted! :-) The landscape is magnificent! It reminded me of Wisconsin and Minnesota (USA). So you don't need to go 'across the pond', you can 'experience' it here... A truly 'special' and beautiful experience!!!
Waren When I picked him up, I asked a member of staff whether he had ridden the route before. Answer: "No, I'm only a passive rider...". I suggested that the route was problematic in parts (at least with a tandem). His reply: he had heard that before... Other cycle tourists joined in and spoke of 'irresponsible' sections of the route. They were astonished that we rode it with a recumbent tandem without 'e-support'. Well, it wasn't that bad after all. Would we ride there again? Yes, definitely! But then with our MTB and 'especially' enjoy the single trails etc... :-) Would we recommend the tour to others? Yes, definitely; but depending on your personal fitness and requirements, we would recommend a MTB. Bottom line: The tour was a really 'special' experience that we wouldn't want to miss and that we will certainly talk about and live on for a long time...

Gladly again
An all-round beautiful tour to get to know the area. We have rarely seen so many birds: swallows, cranes, storks and even ospreys. Navigation with the app worked well, while the written description sometimes deviated from the signs. On the route from Röbel to Plau there are some impassable forest paths (narrow, sandy and full of roots). You have to be able to ride a bit technically there in order not to lose your balance. It's good that we had our own bikes with us. The accommodations were all good.

Larger city maps
Perhaps even larger city plans can be included.

pleasure cyclist
A great tour, ideal in terms of the length of the stages and the nature is of course great.

Difficult to see route signs
The route description on site would have to be expanded.

If only these drivers weren't always there
We had an additional program with a national park ranger and can recommend this to everyone. The nature observation and hike offered a worthwhile conclusion.

Nice tour with small flaws
On the first day, this trip takes you through the unspoilt national park on beautiful paths, unfortunately with only a few views of the lakes. On the second and third days, there are some longer "bumpy stretches" (sometimes massive root breakouts, which show that the construction authorities are not taking sufficient care of the cycle path route, and some over unspoilt and rocky forest paths with water channels running across them). The route should be checked here, because these sections - where you have to hold your dentures so that they don't fall out of your mouth - are not recommended for people with disc damage or less experienced cyclists (I cycled according to the GPS data, but I don't know whether it always matches the route in the tour booklet). The GPS navigation works very well and saved me from many wrong turns that I would probably have made if I had only cycled according to the tour booklet. The luggage transport was very reliable and punctual. The choice of hotel was not always optimal: A hotel where the reception is only open until 2/3 p.m. and you have to call in advance if you arrive later (the room key is then left in a box in front of the building), and where there is no secure (locked) parking for bicycles and only a battery charging station next to the public sidewalk, is not acceptable at all (Ht. Müritz Romantik in Sietow-Dorf). There was no restaurant in the building or in the village (there was only one fish restaurant with just one meat dish, the next full restaurant was in the neighboring village or - this is my recommendation - on the harbor promenade in Röbel with a larger selection. In Plau, the Hotel Reke was only partially suitable for cyclists: No secure bike parking, only an open, hidden roof with no secure connection for the bike and no electricity (the battery has to be charged in the room). The other hotels were fine. But in all (sic!) hotels the staff was very friendly and helpful, even if in Plau (Ht. Reke) when I arrived at 15 p.m. they explained to me somewhat brusquely that I was only welcome from 16 p.m. On the other hand, the rooms were well furnished everywhere and sufficiently large even for single rooms. Unfortunately, the travel documents gave almost no tourist information, just a very detailed text description (I may have been a bit spoiled by the Bikeline booklets here) and the maps (street names etc.) are unfortunately only printed with low contrast and difficult to read by people who wear glasses). The format of the booklet is unfortunately a bit too high and does not fit in the map pocket of my Ortlieb handlebar bag (you have to lay the booklet horizontally, but that makes it difficult to read while riding). Therefore, my urgent recommendation: ride according to the GPS data! My conclusion: a beautiful and worthwhile tour with a few shortcomings, but you can live with them.

Beautiful tour
We can only recommend this wonderful bike tour through the Mecklenburg Lake District. We had fantastic weather and although it was around 30 degrees at times, we never really broke a sweat while cycling. Luggage transport, the choice of hotels, the GPS data, everything was perfect. We Swiss can still learn a lot from you when it comes to developing cycle paths. One of the highlights was definitely the beginning, the hotel at the Müritz National Park was beautiful (the rooms overlooking the meadow are particularly beautiful). But the Wildhof in Neustrelitz and the Gutshof in Ludorf were also great. The breakfast buffet was excellent everywhere. The last two stages were a bit more difficult to ride in places, but with our e-bikes (our own) this was easy to manage. We noticed that we didn't see any Swiss tourists, but we will now do some advertising in Switzerland by recommending this tour.

Nice tour with minor defects
Basically a nice tour and a good service from the tour operator. Questions in advance were answered quickly, the free parking on the premises of the "Müritz office" is also very positive to mention, as is the smooth luggage transfer by the employees of the "Mecklenburger Radtour". But now to the stages themselves: We were guided using the GPS files. This worked well in most cases, but in some cases the files seem to be out of date. For example, the navigation system repeatedly asked us to turn around and return to the route, but the signposted route was ultimately the right one. Some sections of the route require wider, coarser-tread tires and a little skill is also required when driving these sections. Here, you go over paths in the forest with roots running across them, or the paths are sandy and also peppered with stones. Everything is doable, but this should be made clearer in the description or the tour should be adapted. In rainy weather, these sections are not without danger for cyclists. For people who have not been on a bike for a long time, these sections can be a real challenge. We would have liked more information about places of interest, but also about places to stop for a rest. On some sections, you had to look for a long time for restaurants and toilet facilities. Here's a tip, for example: For example, the Babke fishery, which is a little off the beaten track, could be included in the booklet - that would be a great addition. The booklet should also include an overview of the tour in a suitable format - e.g. for a map holder on the bike. That would certainly make it easier to keep track of things. Almost all of the hotels reserved for us were really great. The Heidekrug in Grünplan, the Strandhotel in Röbel and the Klüschenberg in Plau am See were particularly nice. The latter saved us in the extremely bad weather with its pool and sauna. But the restaurants in the Heidekrug and the Klüschenberg are also really great and deserve special mention here. The staff in the hotels were extremely friendly and very helpful everywhere. We can't comment on the bikes - we had our own bikes with us.

adventurous bike tour
The signage of the cycle paths is sometimes very adventurous, which is not made any better by the travel description. It would be better if there were references to restaurants in the route planner. Otherwise everything was perfect. Thanks for the organisation.

The cycling routes were good and varied overall. Only the 5th day stage from Plau am See to Waren mostly ran parallel to busy streets. That wasn't so nice.

The luggage bag on the bike was too small for me, I would have needed a second one. Otherwise everything was ok.
