On this tour between historic cultural cities and industrial landscapes, you will get to know the two souls of Veneto: active and modern on the one hand, and slow, traditional and romantic in an old-fashioned way on the other. An ideal cycling tour through the unique beauties of this region, its art and history, wine landscapes and, last but not least, culinary specialties. Along the route you will have the opportunity to admire true architectural gems, such as the elegant villas that rise along the Brenta river between Venice and Padua, but also towns and villages with an ancient atmosphere. Some examples? Vicenza, Treviso and Asolo, considered one of the most beautiful villages in Italy.

Bassano del Grappa Ponte Vecchio in Veneto Region Nord Italien

Individual arrival and overnight stay.

Overnight place: Mestre

Along the Brenta River you will pass some of the most famous villas of the Venetian nobility (Villa Malcontenta, Villa Widmann, Villa Pisani) until you reach Stra. Along the Piovego canal you will reach the university city of Padua, rich in art and history. Enjoy the old town before a relaxing evening in the largest thermal spa area in Europe awaits you.

Overnight place: thermal spa area of Padua

Discover the Euganean Hills Regional Park with panoramic views of the surrounding plain. The stage takes you first to Villa Barbarigo in Valsanzibio, whose garden and labyrinth are one of the most important examples of classical Italian garden art, and then to the towns of Arquà Petrarca and Monselice with its city walls. Along the cycle path of the Vigenzone canal you then reach the village of Pontemanco, famous for its windmills, and then to Mezzavia, where the San Pelagio estate is located, which houses the Air Museum. Its collection tells the story of flight from Leonardo da Vinci to the Mongolfier brothers and Neil Armstrong. The return to the hotel takes you past the Catajo Castle, which is well worth a visit.

Overnight place: like the day before, thermal spa area of Padua

From the Euganean Hills, you cycle along the Bacchiglione river, which will take you to Vicenza. Before you reach the city, you can admire the Palladian masterpiece, Villa La Rotonda, along the cycle path. Let yourself be enchanted by the old town of Vicenza with its beautiful private palaces and the Basilica Palladiana.

Overnight place: Vicenza

From Vicenza you will cycle towards Marostica, famous for its castle and the chessboard in the main square. Today's destination is Bassano, known for the famous "grappa" and for the "Ponte Vecchio", also known as the Bridge of the Alpini. This is a historic covered wooden bridge that spans the Brenta river in the center of the city.

Overnight place: Bassano del Grappa

The ascent to Asolo is the only real climb on this tour. The descent takes you into the land of the Prosecco vineyards, a World Heritage Site as a cultural landscape. In Maser you can admire another Palladian masterpiece, Villa Barbaro, decorated with frescoes by Paolo Veronese, until you reach Treviso, whose city center is characterized by ancient waterways.

Overnight place: Treviso

Leaving Treviso behind, you follow the course of the Sile river to Casale. Do not miss the impressive Cimitero dei Burci (ship graveyard) in Casier, where you can admire the half-sunken remains of these large wooden boats that were used for the Warentransport on the Sile. At the end of the trip, Venice awaits you for an evening among canals and narrow streets. You will spend the night in Mestre, on the mainland of Venice.
