The trip goes along the Flensburg Fjord to one of the most beautiful moated castles in Germany, to Glücksburg. You continue cycling around the Geltinger Bay, through the tranquil fishing to Kappeln.
Overnight place: Kappeln
You should explore Kappeln's pretty little town before continuing your journey. You cross the Schlei and drive along it to the open sea. The Baltic Sea resort of Damp and the Ludwigsburg manor house are on your way. Your destination today is the town of Eckernförde with its maritime flair.
Overnight place: Eckernförde or the surrounding area
In Eckernförde you can still find the typical North German old town character. The church in Borby has a beautiful altar structure from 1686 and a rare baptismal font from the 13th century. Through the Danish Wohld you will soon reach the state capital Kiel. Take the afternoon to stroll along the Kiellinie, a mile-long promenade. A visit to the lock system of the Kiel Canal is recommended.
