Overnight place: bullay
With the legendary MoselWeinbahn takes you via Germany's longest hillside viaduct to the hiking start in the Art Nouveau town of TrabenTrabach. You hike steeply uphill to Grevenstein Castle and on the Franzensteig via spiral stairs and paths through the middle of the ruins. The deep view of the river is also spectacular. An alpine hiking section on the Kirster Grat takes you to Enkirch with panoramic views, where the historic half-timbered houses are worth a visit. Through Rebland and the vineyards we go to Bullay, where there is a tasting of the best in the evening Moselcry waiting for you.
500 m ascent - 500 m descent
Overnight place: Like the day before in Bullay
Beautiful paths lead you high above the river up to the Petersberg, where the summit cross offers impressive views of the depths Moselloop offers. After descending and crossing the river at Neef, climb the Calmont on the other side. You will discover the steepest vineyard in Europe, where the vineyards have an incline of up to 55°. Via a Roman hilltop settlement with a view of the “Eller Todesangst” rock needle, you climb past the Galgenlay pavilion and take the train to Cochem.
650 m ascent - 650 m descent
Overnight place: Cochem
On foot or by chairlift to the Pinnerkreuz, a magnificent rock pulpit above Cochem. Forest trails high above the river take you to the legendary “Wingerts Budche” rest hut. The nature reserve Dortebachtal, the Pomeranian Forest and the trail through the Schilzergraben promise pleasantly shady freshness. Through green vineyards you reach the Martberg, where a well-restored Roman temple complex invites you to visit. Narrow paths meander through dense forest down into the valley and to the finish in Treis-Karden.
