Along the Strelasund it goes under old avenues to Brandshagen to the cormorant colony. On the opposite shore is the Zudar Peninsula. The silhouette of Greifswald Cathedral soon emerges from the city. Enjoy a stroll through the university town in the afternoon.

The path to the island takes you past the Eldena monastery ruins, the well-known motif of Caspar David Friedrich Usedom. From Freest there is the possibility to take the ferry (on your own) to Peenemünde. You cycle on quiet paths across the island to the sea side through Trassenheide and dune groves to the seaside resort of Zinnowitz. Old hotels in the Wilhelminian style have preserved the flair of bygone times in Zinnowitz.

Experience on today Usedom - Germany's No. 1 sunny island - a mix of beach, nature and culture. The wide coastline from Peenemünde to Koserow invites you to take a walk on the beach. The path leads between the Baltic Sea and the backwaters to the three sisters Bansin, Heringsdorf and Ahlbeck. Heringsdorf, the oldest seaside resort Usedom, is connected to Bansin and Ahlbeck via a beach promenade.

Today is at your leisure. You can relax, stroll through the seaside resorts and admire the houses built in the Wilhelminian style or take a bike trip to Poland to the port city of Swinemünde (approx. 26 km). We also recommend a round trip on the Lyonel Feininger cycle path to the backwaters.

In the seaside resorts you can once again enjoy the hustle and bustle before heading into the quiet hinterland. Over the city Usedom reach Anklam in the afternoon.
From Anklam, take the train to Greifswald.

You leave Greifswald on tranquil paths through the western Pomeranian coast Stralsund. Idyllic villages with cottage gardens surrounded by wide fields characterize the picture.
