Bike & Boat: Berlin - Stralsund

On your first bike tour, you will roam the extensive forests of the Ruppin lake district along mysteriously interconnected waterways. The well-developed bike path to the north and out of the metropolis will take you to Oranienburg. The palace in the heart of the city is one of the most important baroque buildings in the country, and the adjacent palace park is an inviting place to linger. Here you will board the boat again and travel to Eberswalde. The Eberswalde city lock in the heart of the city is the oldest operational lock in Germany.

First, on the towpath along the Finow Canal through beautiful countryside, past forests, clearings and small hills towards Niederfinow with its impressive boat lift - a visit is possible at any time to Hohensaaten. There, return on board and take the boat to Schwedt. If you like, you can cycle further through the crane resting area of ​​the Auen National Park from Hohensaaten to Schwedt (approx. 32 km).

Today you will drive through the Oder-Neiße- Cycle path through the unique cross-border protected area "Lower Oder Valley International Park". The former Criewen estate houses the national park center of the only floodplain national park in Germany. Once you arrive in Mescherin, you board the ship again and enjoy the boat trip to Stettin. Today, you'll spend the entire day on board. After a final narrow passage, the ship enters the expansive waters of the Szczecin Lagoon (Oder Lagoon). After crossing, you'll reach Zinnowitz. This will give you the opportunity to take an evening stroll between the Achterwasser and the Baltic Sea in one of the most beautiful Baltic Sea resorts.

Today you have two cycling tours to choose from: Either you explore the southern part of the island and cycle via Wolgast and Mölschow, past the Usedom Distillery (tip!) to Peenemünde. Or you can choose the beach route with a short detour to the Baltic Sea. The shorter route takes you to the Baltic Sea resorts of Trassenheide and Karlshagen, among others, and invites you to sunbathe on the fine sandy beach. Around 18:00 PM, the boat departs from Peenemünde to Lauterbach in the southeast of the island. Rügen (Arrival around 21:00).
