Arrive on your own during the day.
Overnight place: Tralee
Dingle is a world unto itself. Gorse and wild roses bloom on every corner in Dingle and the soft pink of these flowers contrasts with the deep blue of the Atlantic. Your walk along the Dingle Way takes you to lively fishing villages. Listen carefully: Irish music and Gaelic language reinforce the feeling of having landed in a world of your own. You feel like you are at the end of this microcosm in the stage town of Dunquin. Only a few houses are isolated here, spread over a wide area. The offshore Blasket Islands make this scene one of the most beautiful in all of Ireland. Finally, you overcome a pass on Ireland's highest peak and land in the small port of Brandon Pier. In Dingle you can experience many worlds in just a few days.
Arrive on your own during the day.
Overnight place: Tralee
At the start the Dingle Way leads along a canal to the Blennerville windmill. Shortly afterwards the path climbs gently and leads along a mountain side with wonderful views of Tralee Bay. The path is rocky and can be muddy in bad weather. The varied vegetation makes the first stage an entertaining pleasure.
Overnight place: Camp
You hop from one stone to the next across the Finglass River, then it goes steadily uphill. The view over the surrounding peaks and the nearby sea is magnificent, with only sheep and birds keeping you company today. Shortly afterwards, the long sandy beach of Inch Beach spreads out in front of you. Wild roses and orchids line the path that takes you to the small village of Annascaul.
Overnight place: Annascaul
With the exception of the ruins of Minard Castle, the first half of today's stage is not very spectacular. If you want to avoid hiking on tarred roads, you can avoid the first section by bus (excl.). From Lispole there is a wonderful stretch that takes you past farms and over countless sheep pastures. Today's destination is the lively small town of Dingle.
Overnight place: dingle
By bus (excl.) to Ventry Beach. Here several kilometers lead directly to the sea over one of the most beautiful beaches in Ireland. Afterwards, Eagle Mountain awaits you. It goes over sheep pastures and small rivers. The view of the Blasket Islands is unique and the stage town of Dunquin is the westernmost point in Europe.
Overnight place: Dunquin
In the morning transfer to Smerwick Harbour. Long sandy beaches are on the agenda again. Towards the end of the stage there is a wonderful section along the cliffs of Smerwick Harbour. Feohanagh is the smallest stage town.
Overnight place: Feohannagh
The queen stage comes at the end. You hike up to a pass near Mount Brandon and through a nature reserve back down to the sea. The stage offers great views of the coast of the Dingle Peninsula. Brandon Pier is a small harbor that marks the end of your Dingle Way walk. Subsequent transfer back to Tralee.
