Over time, former open-cast mining areas have been transformed into lakes and a diverse new recreational area. The route is a circular tour through the lake district, offering insights into the region's structural transformation.

Begin your exploration in Leipzig and embark on the nearly 60-kilometer-long Parthe-Mulde Cycle Route to Grimma. This route leads you through the tranquil and unspoiled landscape of the Parthe floodplain. Continue to Abtnaundorf Park with its romantic Lovers' Island. Your next stop is Taucha Manor House, which presents Saxon history in impressive architecture, followed by the Naunhof Tower Clock Museum, which displays a diverse collection of historical clocks. Upon arrival in Grimma, a visit to the District Museum is worthwhile to explore local history. The tour concludes at the "Village of the Senses – Höfgen," where you can enjoy local crafts and sensory experiences before taking the train (on your own) back to Leipzig.

Your destination is Naumburg, a town known for its impressive cathedral and well-preserved old town. Take your time to explore the architectural wonders and historical sights. Enjoy a glass of local wine at one of the cozy wineries along the route before returning to Halle by train in the evening (on your own).

Your cycling tour takes you north along the Saale River, through picturesque river landscapes and tranquil countryside. The tour ends in Bernburg, famous for its majestic Renaissance castle, which towers high above the town. In Bernburg, you can explore the historic streets, visit the castle, and learn more about the local history. The town also offers numerous cafés and restaurants where you can sample regional specialties. After a day full of cultural and scenic experiences, you will return to Halle by train (on your own).

Your return journey takes you from the northwest back to Leipzig. You cycle around the airport and return to the Luppetal not far from the Porsche factory, where you cycle through the river floodplain to the center of Leipzig.
