Discover five federal states on this journey: Hamburg, Schleswig-Holstein, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Brandenburg and Saxony-Anhalt are the hosts on your way. You drive through idyllic meadow landscapes and traditional towns, always with the Elbe in view.

On their own. The cosmopolitan city on the Elbe welcomes you. Experience culture such as musicals and theatre. Excellent restaurants and a lot of sights are what make the Hanseatic city so attractive.
Overnight place: Hamburg
Against the current, but often with the wind at your back, you leave Hamburg along the Elbe and cycle through the wide green land of the Elbmarsch. The shipping town of Lauenburg with its half-timbered houses from the 16th and 17th centuries and the Elbe Shipping Museum is your destination for the day.

Today you first cycle to the right of the Elbe to Bleckede. Visit the Elbe Castle and the Biosphaerium Elbtalaue and let the unique nature of the river landscape bring you closer. In Boizenburg, the tile museum gives an insight into craftsmanship and production (in-house). Cycle comfortably to Hitzacker.
Overnight place: Hitzacker
Today you cycle through the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve "Flusslandschaft Elbe" along the Elbe via Dömitz to Gartow and Wittenberge. In Dömitz you can visit one of the most impressive fortresses in Northern Europe (on your own). The town of Lenzen, on the other hand, awaits you with half-timbered houses and a Slavic castle that are well worth seeing.
The destination is the Elbe town of Wittenberge in the Prignitz.
Overnight place: Wittenberge
You cycle through the wide landscape of the Prignitz on dyke paths along the Elbe. On the way you come to Rühstädt, the village with the most storks in Germany. Today's destination, Havelberg, is one of the oldest dioceses east of the Elbe. The Romanesque-Gothic cathedral shows the way to the Elbe town from afar.

Today we continue through the green Elbe landscape of the Altmark. On the way you should enjoy the historic town center and a wonderful view of the Elbe valley in Arneburg.
The Bismarck Museum in Schönhausen (in-house) looks forward to cyclists interested in history. A special experience is certainly the crossing with a yaw cable ferry to the other bank of the Elbe.
Overnight place: Tangermünde
Tangermünde's old town is surrounded by an impressive city wall with numerous towers and gates. You cycle to Buch, where you can see a statue of Roland and a Dutch windmill. From Rogätz you can (on your own) take the train to Magdeburg. Before Magdeburg you should take a look at the international waterway junction in Hohenwarte. From the north, drive along the Elbe meadows to the center of Magdeburg.
