Individual arrival and overnight stay in Innsbruck
On today's stage you reach the Brenner Pass with a transfer and then cycle along the Eisacktal cycle path to Brixen. The marked cycle path is partly flat and slightly uphill through picturesque villages to the Franzensfeste fortress. Pass Lake Vahrner and cycle to the traditional lake
Neustift Monastery and from there to Brixen.
The stage to Bolzano is quite short, so you can treat yourself to a stopover in the artist town of Klausen with its impressive Säben monastery hill.
Today you cycle along the banks of the Adige, past the famous orchards and vineyards of the lowlands. Halfway between Bolzano and Trento you will find Salurn, the language border between the German-speaking and Italian-speaking areas of northern Italy. You can shorten the stage by taking the train in several stations.
The Adige accompanies you to Rovereto, the city with the famous museum of contemporary art. From there you leave the valley and cycle with a short climb to the San Giorgio pass, from where the breathtaking descent begins, giving you a spectacular view of Lake Garda and the town of Torbole. From Riva del Garda you take the ferry towards the south of the lake.
After the gentle hills that surround Lake Garda, you will meet the river Etsch again and cycle with it to Verona, one of the most important cities in the Veneto. A visit to the Roman Arena, the Church of San Zeno and the House of Juliet are essential.
In the hinterland of Verona you cycle along the foot of the Lessinian Mountains, where you come to the castle of Soave in the middle of the vineyards. The flat route takes you past the beautiful Romeo and Juliet castles in Montecchio Maggiore, while the hilly route takes you through the Berici hills. Vicenza, the little jewel with the buildings of Andrea Palladio, one of the most famous architects of the th century, awaits you at the end of the day. The stage can be shortened thanks to the train station in San Bonifacio.
You leave Vicenza and cycle along the cycle path along the Bacchiglione, where you can marvel at the beautiful Villa Rotonda, Palladio's masterpiece, and Villa Valmarana with the frescoes by Tiepolo. After the village of Montegalda, you head towards the Euganean Hills, where a relaxing evening awaits you in the largest thermal area in Europe.
Along the cycle path that flanks the Battaglia Canal, you cross the university town of Padua, which is rich in art and history. Following the Piovego canal you then reach Stra and further along the Brenta river you pass some of the most famous villas of the Venetian nobility (Villa Pisani, Villa Malcontenta, Villa Widmann) before reaching Mestre, the mainland of Venice.
