Family cycling Baltic Sea (8 days)

From Warnemünde, you can take an excursion boat (under your own management) to Rostock's city harbour. You then cycle through the center of Rostock to the largest zoo on the North Sea and Baltic Sea coasts of Germany (on your own). Over 4.500 animals of 320 species live there, and you can visit the great apes in the Darwineum. After visiting the zoo, cycle back to the hotel in Warnemünde.

Take the Warnow ferry (incl.) to Hohe Düne. If you want to learn everything about amber, then a visit to the Amber Museum is worthwhile
in Ribnitz-Damgarten. There is also a beekeeping show nearby, where everything revolves around honey. When you have seen all this, cycle back to the Baltic Sea to your hotel on the Fischland or stay in the booked hotel in Ribnitz-Damgarten.

Miles of sandy beach give you plenty of room to build sandcastles using wet, watery sand. Who is interested in a sailing trip? In Ahrenshoop you can take the Zeesboot on the Bodden. Or you can take a trip to the amber town of Ribnitz-Damgarten with an overnight stay on Fischland.

Today we continue to Darßwald and to Zingst. In Wiek, the Darßer Arche Museum (in-house) shows a lot of interesting things about the flora and fauna of the coasts.
In Prerow you must have seen the beach at Darßer Ort. The water is crystal clear and shimmers from light blue to turquoise to dark blue. It almost looks like a palm beach in the Caribbean. Your destination is the Baltic Sea resort of Zingst.

You can spend another day at the beach on the fine sandy beach and eat delicious ice cream. You can play mini-golf or discover and try out new things in the Experimentarium (under your own management), a house of small experiments.

The last stage of your bike tour leads through the land of cranes and migratory birds. You cycle to Barth and further along the Bodden coast Stralsund. On the way you will pass a crane information center that you can visit with a detour. If you don't want to cycle the whole route, you can shorten the tour from Barth by train (incl.) and have more time in Stralsund for the numerous sights such as the OZEANEUM (incl.) and the "HanseDom" water park (entrance exclusive).
