Individual arrival in Gargas. Relax by the beautiful hotel pool overlooking the Luberon. In the late afternoon there will be an information talk followed by the issue of bikes (if booked).
Ocher quarries and charming Provençal villages with colorful weekly markets and small winding streets are the backdrop for the intense colors of Provence. In spring, blossoming fruit trees enchant the landscape; in summer it's beguiling fields of lavender and the chirping of the omnipresent crickets and in autumn it's wine.
The area here is so varied that we have decided to offer you more stages than you have vacation days. Choose your route according to your mood, short or long, easy or difficult, there is something for everyone here.
- Good value for money

The area around Gargas was once the center of ocher mining. Start the day with a visit to an old quarry that bears witness to the glory years of the ocher industry. Walk through a labyrinth of galleries that are more than 40 km long and 15 m high. Later you cycle through the Colorado Provencal, a unique landscape that shines in a wide variety of ocher tones.
Undoubtedly, a visit to L' Isle-sur-la-Sorgue is a must on any tour of Provence. On Sundays, one of the most beautiful markets attracts visitors to the nice little town, which is known throughout France for its many antique shops. The detour to Fontaine-de-Vaucluse, one of the largest springs in France, is also worthwhile
Today we're going to the Luberon. First we go to Bonnieux, where market day is on Friday. Via Buoux, with its high, jagged rock faces, we continue to Saignon, with a wonderful view of the Vaucluse mountains and Mont Ventoux.
Lacoste (weekly market on Tuesdays) with the castle of the Marquis de Sade, Ménerbes, a charming medieval town, and the small but old Oppede-le-Vieux (weekly market on Saturdays) are the stops on this stage. In constant ups and downs it goes through a scenic area.
This stage leads through two of the most beautiful villages in France. Roussillon (market on Thursday) impresses with its variety of colors, of course everything in ocher tones, and Gordes with its exceptional location. In the immediate vicinity of Gordes (market on Tuesday) there are two other sights, the Abbey of Sénanque and the Village des Bories, a village of stone huts.
