Overview of your benefits
  • Good value for money
  • Tour incl. hotels and luggage transport
  • Extensive route booklet & GPS data
  • Top brand rental bikes bookable
  • Over 30 years of experience

Immediately after your arrival in the beautiful city of Dresden, you should use the time and visit the historic old town. Explore the Frauenkirche and the Semperoper and be enchanted by the baroque charm of the state capital of Saxony!

Overnight place: Dresden

After leaving the majestic Florence on the Elbe behind you, you will cycle past Pillnitz Castle to Pirna, the gateway to Saxon Switzerland. Use the afternoon for a walk through medieval Pirna with its many preserved sandstone facades.

Overnight place: Pirna/Bad Schandau

From Pirna the landscape changes drastically, because instead of cycling through the wide Elbe meadows as before, you now cycle through the rugged rocky world of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains. Interrupt your bike tour along the Elbe Cycle Path, for example, to climb the famous Bastei viewing rock. You will soon leave Germany and cross the border into the Czech Republic. Now the Elbe valley widens again and you will soon be greeted by today's stage destination, the town of Decin.

Overnight place: Decking

Before you saddle up, you should (if you haven't already done so the day before) plan a short detour to the Baroque Decin Castle, which towers majestically over the city and the Elbe. The cycle route then takes you past the ruins of Schreckenstein Castle and through Usti nad Labem to the pretty town of Leitmeritz. In the evening, it's worth taking a stroll to the pretty market square and visiting one of the typically regional restaurants in Leitmeritz. Enjoy the hearty, bohemian dishes!

Overnight place: Litoměřice area

Before you set off on your day's stage, it is advisable to plan some time for a visit to Terezin. The former fortress town lies south of Leitmeritz and served the Nazis as the Theresienstadt concentration camp during the Second World War, where they committed cruel acts against the Jewish people. Today it is once again a small Czech town. Its history can be traced in numerous museums, exhibition venues and in the cemeteries around the town. From here, your bike tour takes you first through smaller villages and then directly along the banks of the Elbe to the fortress town of Roudnice nad Labem. In the afternoon you will reach today's destination: Melnik. Be sure to climb the castle hill and enjoy the view over the confluence of the Vltava and Elbe from there.

Overnight place: Melnik

The last stage of your bike tour from Dresden to Prague is already on the agenda. You say goodbye to the Elbe Cycle Path and cycle along the Vltava to the capital of the Czech Republic. Once there, you can take the first tours of the great city.

Overnight place: Prague

Stroll across the many Vltava bridges, enjoy the view over the Charles Bridge and the majestic old town of Prague, dare to climb the imposing Hradschin Castle hill and immerse yourself in the multi-cultural life in Prague.

Overnight place: Prague

We hope you had an unforgettable cycle tour along the Elbe Cycle Path and wish you a safe journey home. Of course, we would be happy to book an additional night in Prague (or any other overnight accommodation along the way) for you, so that you can discover and visit even more sights in the "Golden City".
