GUIDED TOUR: Great Masurian Lakes

◼ After breakfast, city tour of Warsaw including sights such as: the Old Town; Lazienki Park and the vibrant city center

◼ At 12:00 noon, bus transfer to Masuria (approx. 200 km) – 4 hours. First stop in Masuria at a picturesque spot in the heart of the Johannesburg Heath. Here is the birthplace of Ernst Wiechert. Get a feel for Masuria. From there, our bike tour to Krutyń begins.

Dinner and overnight stay in Krutyń. The family-run guesthouse has a very good location – picturesque and quiet. We will be welcomed with excellent food. The friendly owners are very dedicated and welcoming. 

◼ Morning: Bike tour through the Puszcza Piska / Johannisburger Heide, the largest forest area in Masuria with dense spruce and pine forests. Many animals live here, including deer, elk, roe deer, wild boar, rabbits and foxes. At noon we take a break in the village of Ruciane.

◼ In the afternoon we drive through Masurian villages to Wojnowo/Eckertsdorf. This village was founded by the Russian Old Believers. In this picturesque village we visit a Russian Orthodox Church and a monastery right on the shore of Lake Druze.

◼ After dinner, an evening walk.

◼ Overnight stay in Krutyń.

◼ Morning: Kayak tour on the most famous and most beautiful natural river in Masuria - the Kruttina. We experience one of the most beautiful stretches of this journey: pure water, in which the landscape is reflected unclouded, there are fish and birds, especially many kingfishers. Nature lovers are always enthusiastic about this area.

◼ In the afternoon you cycle through the Masurian Landscape Park to Nikolaiken. With its secluded forests, moorland and wide lakes, the Masurian Landscape Park is a scenic pearl of the former East Prussia. Good forest trails and narrow roads will take you to a scientific station where beavers and small Polish horses called tarpans are kept. Then you take a ferry across in about 15 minutes and then continue to Nikolaiken.

◼ You will spend the next two nights in a hotel near Nikolaiken.

◼ Dinner and overnight at the hotel in the Mikołajki/Nikolaiken area.

◼ Today's bike tour takes us along the Masurian Lakes around Nikolaiken.

◼ Morning cruise on the White Fleet ship from Mikołajki to Ryn. A boat trip full of scenic impressions awaits us on the northern part of the longest channel lake in Poland. We end our boat trip at the foot of the historic crusader castle in Ryn/Rhine.

◼ In the afternoon a bike ride past picturesque villages and the Masurian canals.

◼ Relax in Nikolaiken in the afternoon. Stroll through town and optional coffee break.

◼ After dinner, end this eventful day around the campfire with accordion music.

◼ Overnight stay in a typical hotel in the vicinity of Mikołajki/Nikolaiken.

◼ After breakfast, bus transfer from Mikołajki/Nikolaiken to Wolf's Lair - the former headquarters of Hitler in East Prussia. Tour. 

◼ Afterwards we cycle to Kętrzyn/Rastenburg. Stroll through the town. Optional lunch break at the castle. 

◼ In the afternoon we continue to Nakomiady/ Eichmedien, where we visit a manufactory and a spacious park. 

◼ The tour continues to the 3* hotel on the lake in Mrągowo/Sensburg. 

◼ Dinner and overnight stay in a beautiful hotel by the lake in Mrągowo/Sensburg.

◼ This day should actually be called "Back to the Past". There are still isolated areas in Masuria that take us back to the 19th century. You will drive through a quiet and isolated area and experience pure nature. 

◼ In the afternoon, visit the Protestant church in Sorquitten. Then continue your bike tour through the stork village of Gonswen. 

◼ Dinner and overnight stay in Mrągowo. Overnight stay in a beautiful hotel by the lake in Mrągowo.

◼ In the morning we cycle to Swieta Lipka / Holy Linden, where there is a beautiful baroque church. During the tour with a guide we will also listen to an organ concert. 

◼ From St. Linden we continue to the old Masurian town – Reszel/Rössel, where we visit the mighty castle. 

◼ In the afternoon bus transfer from Reszel / Rössel to Warsaw. 

◼ Farewell dinner together in a restaurant in Warsaw. 

◼ The last night in the 3* hotel in the center of Warsaw.

◼ Breakfast at the hotel.

◼ Return home or individual extension in Warsaw.
