The Vistula is the longest river in Poland and connects important historical cities in Poland such as Krakow, Warsaw and Gdansk. The queen of Polish rivers is a natural river. It forms a landscape that can no longer be found anywhere in Europe. Its course was hardly regulated; You can still see the formation of islands and the washing of the banks. It crosses the entire country from the Beskids in the south to Gdańsk in the north. The Vistula is home to many mammals. Here you can meet the rare otters as well as numerous beavers and muskrats. But the greatest wealth of the river is its birds - here you can meet most species at the same time as well as rare and endangered bird species.

If you want to get to know the world on the Vistula, we offer you an eight-day bike tour from Warsaw to Gdansk along the Vistula. On the way you will visit old and historical places, such as the Gothic Copernicus city of Toruń/Thorn, picturesque towns such as Chełmno/Kulm and Grudziądz/Graudenz and Marienburg, where the huge knights' castle is located. From Thorn to Gdansk, our bike tour takes us not only along the Vistula, but also along the Crusader castles.

Individual arrival to Warsaw. Check-in at a 3* or 4* hotel in the center of Warsaw. At 17:15 p.m. meeting with the Polish tour guide at the start hotel in Warsaw. At 17:30 p.m. walking tour of the Old Town in Warsaw. Dinner in a cozy restaurant in the Old Town in Warsaw.

Overnight place: Warschau

After breakfast, we'll take an approximately one-hour train ride from Warsaw towards Sochaczew. Then, in the late morning, we'll cycle to Żelazowa Wola to visit Frédéric Chopin's birthplace. At 12:00 PM, we'll attend a Chopin recital in Żelazowa Wola – lasting about one hour.

In the afternoon, we cycle through Kampinos National Park and continue through beautiful little villages nestled between two rivers: the Vistula and the Bzura. We then reach the town of Wyszogród on the Vistula, where we visit a museum dedicated to the river. Afterwards, we transfer to Płock on the Vistula [40 km transfer].

Overnight place: Vistula

After breakfast, sightseeing in Płock. In the morning, after a transfer from Płock to Włocławek, we cycle along the Vistula towards Thorn/Toruń. On the way we take the ferry on the Vistula in Nieszawa. We end our cycling stages in the most famous spa town in Poland – Ciechocinek, where we visit the graduation towers and spa facilities. Then a short bus transfer to Toruń/Thorn.
Toruń has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997. The city owes its unique character primarily to its exceptionally well-preserved architectural monuments – Gothic churches, Baroque granaries, and graceful townhouses, many of which have remained unchanged for centuries. Toruń is a city where past and present meet, and science intertwines with culture. The enchanting Old Town inspires everyone to stroll along the paths of European cultural heritage. Besides its monuments, Toruń is also famous as the birthplace of Nicolaus Copernicus. Here, we'll sample the renowned Toruń gingerbread. Dinner will be served in a cozy restaurant in Toruń's Old Town.

Overnight place: Torun

After breakfast, a guided tour of Toruń's Old Town, including visits to St. Mary's Church (formerly a Franciscan monastery) and St. John's Church, and a final view of the Old Town, begins today's stage. We cycle along the Vistula River valley, partly on a newly constructed cycle path built on an old railway embankment, to Bierzgłowski Castle. In the afternoon, we cycle through forests and fields to Ostromecko. Check-in at the Palace Hotel. Afterwards, a tour of the palace. Dinner and overnight stay in Ostromecko.

Overnight place: Ostromecko/surroundings

In the morning, a bike tour along the Vistula River to Chełmno/Kulm. Optional lunch break in Chełmno in the Old Market Square, in the shadow of the Renaissance Town Hall, within whose walls the famous Chełmno ell and rod are immortalized. In the afternoon, we continue our bike tour from Chełmno to Grudziądz/Graudenz. The landmark of Grudziądz is the 26 granaries from the 16th and 17th centuries, visible from the Vistula bridge. During this period, Poland shipped grain to Gdańsk via the river. The Old Town offers an unforgettable view of the river. Dinner and overnight stay in Grudziądz at a 3-star hotel.

Overnight place: Grudziadz

After breakfast, a short bus transfer takes us to Kwidzyn/Marienwerder. From there, we cycle along the dike, enjoying views of the lush fields and scattered farmsteads, to Biala Gora/Weißenberg, where the Vistula River forks. Follow the right branch, the Nogat, and you will soon reach Malbork/Marienburg. One of the highlights of this cycling tour is undoubtedly the enormous castle, once the headquarters of the Teutonic Knights. Dinner and overnight stay in Malbork.

Overnight place: Marienburg

After breakfast, we will visit Malbork Castle, the former headquarters of the Teutonic Knights. Afterwards, a short bus ride from Malbork to the Vistula River in Tczew (Kiezmark). In the afternoon, we will follow the Motława River from the Vistula to the Green Gate in Gdańsk – a beautiful cycling stage through Mennonite country and the Vistula Delta. Arcaded houses and numerous drainage canals are reminders of the heritage of the early settlers. We will then cycle to our hotel in Gdańsk. Check-in at the hotel near the Old Town is followed by a one-hour guided walking tour of the magnificent Hanseatic city of Gdańsk. A late dinner will be served in Gdańsk's Old Town.
