Every connoisseur is familiar with the cultural landscape on the Upper Rhine Graben: Romanesque souls and Germanic minds harmonize here in the best of harmony and characterize the warm-hearted people on both sides of the Rhine. The Alsace and Baden regions are associated with sunshine, vineyards, orchards - and a culture of food and drink that ranges from creative to excellent. The start and end point of the Alsace cycle tour is Strasbourg: You will see the famous cathedral and the romantic tanners' quarter, which is criss-crossed by water. Your first cycling stage takes you across the Rhine to Baden. Picturesque places like the medieval Gengenbach are on your way through orchards, fields and vines. Along the Kaiserstuhl vineyards, spoiled by the climate, you cycle against the backdrop of the Black Forest to beautiful Freiburg and Breisach. From the Alsatian wine town of Riquewihr, take a trip to the pretty town of Colmar: Here you can admire the famous Isenheim Altarpiece. Your bikes follow the Route des Vins through their picturesque villages: crooked, colorful half-timbered buildings, Gothic town houses, small churches and castles in the middle of vineyards with a view of the Vosges. Along the Bruche river you finally reach Strasbourg again. You enjoy the best Baden and Alsatian cuisine and stay in comfortable and traditional hotels in the city centers.

Individual arrival at the start hotel.

a) Train: Good train connections to Strasbourg.

b) Car: parking space near the start hotel (subject to a charge). At 17 p.m., our tour guide welcomes you to your comfortable Hotel Diana Dauphine. Afterwards you take a tour through the historic old town (Münster only from the outside, see day 7). Go to a restaurant for dinner.

You leave Strasbourg on your bikes, cross the Rhine with its green meadows and enter the Baden region. Following the course of the Kinzig, you reach medieval Gengenbach. You will spend the night in Reichenbach at the Hotel Adler, which is known for its renowned restaurant.

Through small villages and with a view of the terraced vineyards of the Kaiserstuhl you cycle through the lovely cultural landscape with orchards, fields and cottage gardens. The panorama forms the foothills of the Black Forest before you reach Freiburg. You stay overnight in the centrally located Park Hotel Post. After the city tour, the evening is at leisure.

In the morning we go over the Tuniberg. Later your bikes roll through the flat Rhine plain to Breisach to visit the Minster. Once in Alsace, head towards the Vosges to the Riquewihr vineyards. Here is your Hotel Le Schoenenbourg, which will accommodate you for the next two nights. In the evening you have dinner in a restaurant.

The bike route between Riquewihr and Colmar leads through some of the most beautiful villages on the Wine Route, such as the charming Kaysersberg and Turckheim with its three city gates. After the tour of the beautiful Colmar with a visit to the Isenheim Altar, you will drive back to Riquewihr. The evening is at your leisure.

We continue through the Alsatian vineyards: First you cycle to Ribeauvillé, which stretches picturesquely in the first foothills of the Vosges. You will stop in the idyllic Dambach-la-Ville before arriving in the half-timbered village of Obernai. You spend the night in the charming Hotel Le Colombier in the middle of town. For dinner you go to a restaurant.

From Obernai you cycle relaxed to Molsheim with its famous butchers' guild house. Here you leave the wine region. You will discover the "Dompeter", the oldest church in Alsace, then the Bruche river will lead your bikes on flat paths to the center of Strasbourg to your hotel. In the afternoon you have free time to visit the Minster. Or you can cycle through the European Quarter with your tour guide. Go to a restaurant for the final meal.

The Alsace-Baden cycle tour ends after breakfast.
