Wrocław/Breslau is the capital of Lower Silesia, one of the most beautiful and oldest cities in Poland - located directly on the Oder. This unique city is located on 12 islands connected by an impressive number of 112 bridges. Bartsch Valley/ Dolina Baryczy is one of the most scenic regions in Poland. The valley is characterized by the Militsch Ponds - a complex of ponds that cover an area of over 6000 hectares. They were created in the Middle Ages by the Cistercians. This area is a paradise for cyclists and nature lovers. The cycle route is one of the most beautiful bike routes that shows the incomparable character of this extraordinary region: half-timbered houses and brick in the middle of this water landscape full of ponds. But the ponds are not everything! Connected to this are the nesting sites of over 160 bird species in the reed banks, on the fields, meadows and moors. For another 110 bird species, this is a location on the bird migration route. There is also a lot of wildlife living in the forests here. The sight of cranes, geese and deer is fascinating. In the local restaurants we try the carp and other freshwater fish that are native to this area.
