Start in Ahrensburg and cycle along the picturesque Elbe-Lübeck Canal to Lübeck, where the UNESCO World Heritage Old Town awaits you. Continue along the Baltic coast to Neustadt in Holstein and then to the island of Fehmarn, where you cross the imposing Fehmarnsund Bridge. After a relaxing ferry ride, you reach Lolland and explore picturesque Maribo. Well-developed cycle paths take you to Lübeck. A highlight is the Elbe-Lübeck Canal, along which you will cycle for a large part of the route. Lübeck's church towers greet you from afar and invite you to explore the city.

From Lübeck you go to the Baltic Sea coast. The Baltic Sea Cycle Route takes you north to Neustadt Holstein with its maritime flair. The harbor invites you to take a stroll and the historic old town offers numerous cafes and restaurants where you can end the day.
Overnight place: Neustadt or surroundings
From Neustadt you continue your journey along the coast to the island of Fehmarn. On the way you pass seaside resorts and small fishing villages. A special highlight of this stage is the Fehmarnsund Bridge. This impressive bridge connects the mainland with the island of Fehmarn and offers spectacular views of the sea and the coastal landscape.
Overnight place: Fehmarn
A short drive takes you to the ferry port of Puttgarden. The crossing to Rødby Denmark takes about 45 minutes. You cycle through picturesque Lolland to Maribo, where your accommodation is located. The city offers numerous opportunities for relaxation and sightseeing, including the Maribo Cathedral and the open-air museum.
Overnight place: Lolland / Maribo and surroundings
The journey continues through rural Lolland over the Storstrøm Bridge to the island of Falster. You cross Falster and, after crossing Guldborg, reach Zealand, Denmark's largest island, with the destination of Næstved. Næstved is a historic town with many cultural attractions, including Gavnø Castle and the Medieval Centre.

Your route crosses Zealand to the island's east coast, to the half-timbered town of Køge. This route leads through forests and past lakes and fields. The route is well signposted and offers numerous opportunities for breaks in nature. Køge, a historic town with a beautiful old market square and well-preserved half-timbered houses, is a great place to stop. In Køge, you have the option of taking the commuter train to Copenhagen city center (at your own expense) if you want to shorten the route.
Overnight place: Copenhagen
After breakfast, your cycling trip ends. You may want to book an extra night in Copenhagen. Copenhagen is known for being bike-friendly and offers numerous cycle paths that will take you comfortably through the city. Visit the Tivoli amusement park, Nyhavn with its colorful houses and the famous Little Mermaid. The city also offers many museums, historical buildings and modern architecture. Use the day to explore Copenhagen and enjoy the lively atmosphere.
