Learn moreWe have selected our favorite experiences from some of our other tours in three very different parts of northern Portugal, namely the UNESCO World Heritage wine region of the Douro Valley, the mountains and valleys of the Peneda-Gerês National Park and the unspoiled coast of the Minho area, to give you an exhilarating taste of this diverse region.
Your adventure in northern Portugal begins with a two-day hike into the heart of the Douro Valley , offering breathtaking views and plenty of opportunities to sample world-class wines and local produce. Next, you'll venture into the wilder, rugged landscapes and remote villages of the Peneda-Gerês National Park , a certified World Biosphere Reserve. Discover an ancient castle, a secluded sanctuary, enchanting forests, crystal-clear waters, and hearty local cuisine. After the mountains, you'll travel to the historic town of Vila Nova de Cerveira for a hike along the Minho River and the Atlantic Ocean . En route to the charming riverside town of Viana do Castelo, you'll encounter fishing communities and beautiful beaches.
