Day 2: Passau - Schlögener Schlinge/surroundings, approx. 50 km

On the Danube Cycle Path you cycle downstream past Engelhartszell to the Schlögener Schlinge. In the evening, the Mühlviertel beer cuisine will spoil your senses. After the refreshing pear frizzante "Donauperle" as an aperitif, there follows a three-course themed menu with corresponding beer specialties from the Mühlviertel breweries.

Hotel example: Gasthof Aumüller *** on the Mühlviertler side of the Danube with a wonderful guest garden.

Day 3: Schlögener Schlinge/surroundings – Linz, approx. 45 km

Numerous down-to-earth inns along the Danube invite you to a hearty Brettljause and foam-topped Mühlviertler beers. Enjoy! In Linz you can taste the original Linzer Torte at a coffee house in the picturesque old town.

Hotel example: Hotel Prielmayerhof **** in Linz, just a few minutes' walk from Josef's beer garden.

Day 4: Linz - Ardagger, approx. 60 km

This section of the route offers a lot to see: Enns, the oldest town in Austria, untouched meadow landscapes and orchards until you finally reach Ardagger. Tip: The spice shop in Ardagger Abbey has all kinds of delicacies from the region ready.

Hotel example: Hotel Schiffsmeisterhaus*** Garden restaurant with excellent inn culture

Day 5: Ardagger – Maria Taferl, approx. 45 km

Through the wild Strudengau you leave the beer country of Upper Austria and reach the wine country of Lower Austria. High above the Danube, the Basilica of Maria Taferl greets you from afar. Look forward to the lovingly prepared culinary delights in the gourmet restaurant Hotel Schachner.

Hotel example: Hotel Schachner**** gourmet restaurant on the magnificent panorama terrace

Day 6: Maria Taferl – Weißenkirchen approx. 50 km

The magnificent Melk Abbey marks the beginning of the world-famous Wachau wine-growing region. You cycle past numerous wineries through picturesque wine-growing villages such as Spitz and Weißenkirchen. In the family-run Schneeweiß winery, you can taste award-winning Wachau wines.

Hotel example: Hotel Kirchwirt**** in Weißenkirchen, beautifully embedded in the surrounding vineyards
