Our classic on the lake district is all about nature. This bike tour leads through the Müritz National Park to Neustrelitz, past a large number of small and large lakes to the south bank of the Müritz and back to Waren via Röbel. Fascinating landscape and pretty towns make this cycle tour an unforgettable experience.
On their own. Waren has developed into one of the most popular holiday resorts in the Mecklenburg Lake District over the years. The old town above the city's beautiful harbor is attractive with its quiet corners and small alleys.
Overnight place: Waren (Müritz)/Klink
Before you leave Waren, you should visit the MÜRITZEUM (own management), which gives you an insight into the flora and fauna of the region. In the direction of the Müritz National Park, Federow is the first port of call to learn more about the Müritz National Park and the eagles that live in the nearby eyrie. On the further route there are various possibilities to get insights or views via observation towers.
Overnight place: Fruit
Did you know that Mirow is the birthplace of the English Queen Charlotte? The city of Charlotte, North Carolina is named after her. At the Mirow lock you can watch ships and then cycle around the Müritz arm to the small Müritz. Idyllic paths then lead you either along the Müritz or via the little village of Bollewick, with the longest boulder barn in northern Germany, to Röbel.
Overnight place: Robel or the surrounding area
The west bank of the Müritz is mostly in sight and you can smell the scent of water as you cycle north through small hamlets past farmsteads to Klink. Of course there is plenty of opportunity to stop for a swim. If you want to cheat on this stage, you can of course take the ship to Waren on your own. From Waren you can either travel home on your own or extend your stay in Waren (Müritz)/Klink.
