The trip goes along the Flensburg Fjord to one of the most beautiful moated castles in Germany, to Glücksburg. Alternatively, you can shorten the route with a boat trip. You continue cycling around the Geltinger Bay, through the tranquil fishing to Kappeln.

Today's stage takes you on wonderful paths through the gently rolling landscape ofANGLES via Arnis (Germany's smallest town), Borderby to Lindaunis and further via the Holm (old historic fishing village) along the northern shore of the Schlei to Schleswig. In the Viking Age, the most important trade routes met here and it was from here that the Vikings went on raids and traded.

You will soon leave Schleswig, the cultural city and the Viking Museum of Haithabu on the banks of the Schlei behind. Via Danevirke you reach the largest archaeological monument in Northern Europe, the Danewerk, near Hollingstedt. Finally, the Eider-Treene-Sorge path takes you back to Husum.
