In the morning you first follow the Regnitz for a short distance to Main, which takes you to the pilgrimage church of Maria Limbach, which is well worth seeing. Now the first vineyards are beginning to mark the border between beer and wine Franconia. Marvel at the historic center in Haßfurt. For a little refreshment, it's worth taking a detour to the pretty town of Theres Mainriverbank.

Today you cycle via Fahr, the town of the Bockstaschen, to Volkach. The city is famous for its excellent wines and tempts with culinary diversity in the evenings.

Behind Volkach follow it Maincanal before you get back on the canal in Schwarzach Main meet. Since the well-paved cycle path is completely flat, Würzburg can be reached quickly. You can take an individual city tour in the afternoon.

Via Veitshöchheim with the prince-bishop's summer residence and French rococo garden you cycle to Karlstadt with the beautiful city center. The landscape now changes in a variety of ways and the characteristic viticulture gives way to shady forests directly on the cycle path. On flat paths you roll comfortably over the three-river town of Gemünden to Lohr.

The wooded hills through which the... Main meanders through. You cycle past the town of Rothenfels, whose castle guards the narrow valley, to Marktheidenfeld and Wertheim. Let yourself be enchanted by the graceful half-timbered houses of the winding old town!

On flat paths you roll quickly between the peaks of the Spessart and the Odenwald to Miltenberg (36 km), which proudly presents itself with its half-timbered houses. Here you can shorten your cycling stage to Aschaffenburg by DB (direct connection, duration approx. 45 minutes, train tickets not included in the travel price). Now vineyards are slowly spreading out in front of you again. Enjoy the journey to the wine town of Klingenberg (51 km), where you can also take the train to Aschaffenburg. The Main-The cycle path remains pleasantly flat and well paved, so that the last few kilometers to Aschaffenburg (77 km) fly by before the Johannisburg sandstone castle welcomes you.
