Mains to experience in just a few days - with enough time for all the sights. Bamberg attracts with a medieval old town that is absolutely worth seeing, wonderful beer gardens and pure culture. The Main- Cycle path takes you from the beer brewing city of Bamberg to the sunny Franconian wine country with its excellent white wines. At the end of your cycle tour, you can look forward to Würzburg with the famous Würzburg Residence (UNESCO World Heritage since 1981). It is considered the most unified and extraordinary of all baroque palaces. The most respected architects of their time were involved in the construction, painters, sculptors and plasterers came from Italy, Flanders and Munich. Furnished between 1740 and 1770 and provided with magnificent gardens between 1765 and 1780, the Würzburg Residence is today one of the most splendid royal courts in Europe.

After your arrival, Bamberg's old town (UNESCO World Heritage Site) invites you to take a tour. First visit the Imperial Cathedral of St. Peter and St. George and the New Residence before stopping off at one of the many Bamberg breweries and ending your first day with pleasure.

Passing the beautiful pilgrimage church of Maria Limbach, you cycle on the asphalted Main-cycle path almost without much effort to Haßfurt, which invites you to take a leisurely break. Now the first vineyards begin, because you have passed the border between beer and wine Franconia. Mainshore you roll quickly to Schweinfurt in the heart of MainFranconia. Stroll through the city and discover evidence of one of the oldest cities in Bavaria. In Schweinfurt you can follow in the footsteps of the old imperial city and in the footsteps of industrial pioneers.

You cycle past countless vineyards through the historic, small wine village of Wipfeld - home of the "Tithe Count". Take a leisurely break, marvel at the valuable old buildings of the village and enjoy the idyllic location. In the afternoon you cycle through Fahr, the town of the Bocksbeutel, to Volkach - famous for its excellent wines! Volkach on the Mainloop is unique in Germany because only here does the Main This loop is formed. The old town of Volkach is known for its culinary diversity. Immerse yourself in the colorful world of gastronomy and wine!

Since the well-paved cycle path is completely flat today, Würzburg can be reached quickly, so you can take an individual tour of the city in the afternoon. Marvel at the market square, the town hall, the old one Mainbridge with a view of the fortress and pilgrimage church as well as over the rococo facade of the Falkenhaus and over the Lady Chapel with its sandstone figures by Tilmto Riemenschneider. The highlight is the former prince-bishop's residence, which was built between 1720 and 1744 according to plans by Balthasar Neumann and is today one of the most beautiful palace buildings of the southern German baroque due to its unity.

Feedback on the bike trip Main-Cycle path from 02.06.21/06.06.21/2 to //, people

feedback on Mecklenburger Radtour: H. needed 1 week to confirm the trip. I only received the documents by post on the Tuesday before the trip on Wednesday. Feedback on Velociped: Only 1 pannier per bike is not enough! We had two hotels to thank for the fact that we were given a 3rd and 4th bag. Welcome Hotel in Bamberg Reception and support: We received the travel documents here. Only now could I see that the trip was being run by Velociped bicycle tours. Perhaps that is why the travel confirmation took so long? The reception at the hotel was very customer-oriented. They also immediately arranged another pannier for us. Good beds. The hotel is in a beautiful location in the countryside, close to the center by bike. Very good breakfast. Altstadthotel Haßfurt Reception and support: Very neutral, not a communicator. Room 109 faces Engelmessgasse, which is very noisy in the morning and has a lot of car traffic. Quite a lot of delivery traffic and traffic into the city in the morning. Mediocre breakfast. Why didn't we get a room in the inner courtyard, the building seemed pretty empty. At breakfast at 5am, only 9 tables were occupied by cyclists. Lesson for all other hotels: only take a room if it is quiet and the mattresses are OK! The beds in Hassfurt were terrible: much too soft and very loud spring mattresses. Hotel is not recommended! Tuchhaus Hotel in Volkach Reception and service: Very customer-oriented, open, warm-hearted and friendly. Very nicely located on the beautiful market square. Room 5 on the 310rd floor without an elevator was no problem with the nice boss. Very good beds. The house looks like a museum, very nicely renovated. Definitely come back in 3. Very good breakfast, very tasty. Strauss Hotel in Würzburg: Centrally located between the city, Main and train station. Reception and support: customer-oriented and easy to approach. Beds ok. Rooms spacious and not facing the main street. good breakfast. Feedback on the route: 1st cycling day From Bamberg to Hassfurt was mostly desolate through commercial areas and along the busy road. Has nothing to do with 5 stars (at most 3 stars)! 2nd cycling day From Hassfurt to Volkach the landscape was also very monotonous, hardly any nice places that invite you to take photos or linger (at most 3 stars). 3rd cycling day From Volkach to Würzburg we initially got a tip from a local rollerblader who showed us a nicer route to Schwarzach. Overall, the route was nicer today, including the entrance to Würzburg on the beautiful promenades, which are a bit reminiscent of our Isar in Munich (4 stars). Feedback on the green velociped bikes: The chain squeaks the entire journey. My gear shifting is slow and often jerky. It doesn't provide a feeling of security when you have to maneuver quickly. Renting a bike for 3 days for €70 per bike is impressive and the gears could work better and the chain wouldn't squeak for 3 days. One pannier per bike is simply not enough! Feedback on the travel price per person €455 in a double room, hotel category II: After the first day: clearly too expensive. After the second day: clearly too expensive. Too expensive after the 1rd day. We had good cycling weather for 2 days and no rain showers. We would not recommend the trip because of the boring route, which often ran next to the road and through commercial areas. I've never taken so few landscape photos on a trip. The Main you had to look because you often couldn't get close.
