Start this beautiful cycle tour in northern France in the historic city of Metz, whose old fortifications on the Mosel invite you to take a walk today. Follow the young river and enjoy French flair and culinary delicacies in the border triangle of France, Luxembourg and Germany. From Perl you can look forward to an excellent cycle path that takes you through many small wine villages to the Roman city of Trier. Discover such famous ones Moselplaces like Traben-Trarbach, Bernkastel-Kues and Cochem before you reach the confluence of Mosel and admire the Rhine at the Deutsches Eck in Koblenz.

Travel to Metz in good time today, because the capital of the Lorraine region is worth seeing and has interesting things to offer! From the past Roman era to the present day, the city has unique buildings and is famous as a bishop's seat, university town and center of contemporary art. In addition to numerous sights in the old town, there are several extensive parks that invite you to relax and linger, and the city's old, restored fortifications are also worth a tour. In the center you will find shops and a variety of good and individual restaurants with different culinary offerings that are just waiting to be discovered.

Overnight place: Metz

Today you will spend almost the entire day of cycling in France. Indulge in the famous French cuisine along the way and enjoy a good 'cafe au lait'. If you want to shorten the daily stage, you can take the train from Metz and travel to Thionville without having to change trains (bicycles can be taken along free of charge). Look forward to a cycle path with very reliable and good signage. So you cycle in a good mood very close to the water to the German-French border. You have reached Perl directly over the border on German soil and can now cross over to Schengen (other Moselpage / Luxembourg), known by the European agreement, which the free Waren- and regulates passenger traffic, or take a nice bike trip to the Roman Villa Borg (5 km east of Perl). Marvel at the excavations, the reconstruction of the manor house and villa baths, the new complex of old Roman gardens and enjoy refreshment in the Roman tavern.

Overnight place: Perl

Today you are accompanied for the first time by the wide vineyards to the right and left of the Mosel. Make a detour to Remich, whose Mediterranean flair can be found in the many cafes and bistros on the 3 km long Moselpromenade becomes noticeable. Give the place, which the Romans called Remacum, a little of your time and marvel at the old streets and the deanery church from 1817. Strengthen yourself on the Moselterracing before you find your way on the right Moselcontinue along the banks and get to Konz and there the confluence of the Saar and the Mosel cross over. From here it's not far to Trier and so you still have time for an extensive city tour with a visit to the Porta Nigra, the amphitheater, the imperial baths or the magnificent cathedral. This day is a real classic with a Roman past and contemporary wine culture. On the Mosel Cycle along the cycle path to Mehring, where Villa Rustica awaits your visit. A villa rustica is the name given to a country house or estate in the Roman Empire. Today the reconstructed buildings and foundation walls can be visited again. You then roll comfortably to Trittenheim. Shortly before your destination for the day is Neumagen-Dhron, the oldest wine town in Germany! What could be better than trying a pint here?

Overnight place: piesport

The two famous MoselThe towns of Bernkastel-Kues and Traben-Trarbach as well as the well-known wine-growing region "Kröver Nacktarsch" crown today's day. Marvel at the colourful, diverse half-timbered houses on the picture-perfect market square in Bernkastel-Kues, and enjoy a wonderful boat trip in Traben-Trarbach.

Today you will discover Enkirch, a jewel of Moselle half-timbered architecture, and Zell, the wine village with the 'Zeller Schwarzen Katz'. Take a worthwhile break in the small town of Beilstein, which proudly bears the nickname 'Rothenburg an der Mosel“, and look forward to Cochem with its picturesque center and the old imperial castle from the 11th century.

Today it is worth making a detour to the medieval Eltz Castle before the Mosel The cycle path takes you to wine villages worth seeing such as Koben Gondorf and Winningen and finally to the Deutsches Eck. Enjoy the wide view of the beautiful Rhine Valley and look forward to a beautiful evening in Koblenz.

Today your beautiful cycling trip ends in the heart of Koblenz. If you want to go back to Metz, you can book our practical return transfer via Trier in a minibus with luggage and private bikes every Saturday. Departure is always at 09:00 a.m., arrival in Metz around 13:30 p.m. If you would like to continue cycling along the Rhine, you can continue your cycle trip to Cologne or Mainz extend.
