On this round trip you will experience the diversity of the Mecklenburg inland. It leads through the Müritz Lake District, Mecklenburg Switzerland and through the untouched nature of the Müritz National Park. Dreamy lakes and historical places are embedded in this idyllic landscape.

You cycle from the Müritz through the area of the Upper Lakes to the island town of Malchow, Klink, the fishing port in Sietow and the holiday resort "Land Fleesensee" are stops on this eventful stage.
Overnight place: malchow
The northern shore of Lake Plauer is circled. A visit to the Agroneum near Alt Schwerin offers a lot of interesting information about Mecklenburg's agricultural history. The picturesque old town of Plau has developed on both sides of the Elde river.

Today you leave the Upper Lakes area. The gently undulating river landscape of the Elde is cycled through on the tour. The extensive Nossentiner-Schwinzer Heide nature park begins at Lake Goldberger. It continues through a turbulent moraine landscape, then the towers of the old residential town of Güstrow rise. The work of the sculptor Ernst Barlach is closely connected with Güstrow. A visit to the Renaissance castle can round off this day.

Gentle hills, varied forests and old oaks characterize the image of the "Mecklenburgische Schweiz" nature park. The center of the romantic region is the landscape park at the castle "Burg Schlitz".

The tour leads through small villages and past extensive estates. You can see one of the most impressive castles in the country in Basedow. Fritz Reuter, the most popular Low German poet, is the son of the Reuter town of Stavenhagen. In the Literature Museum you will find many interesting facts about his life and works.
Overnight place: Stavenhagen
The oldest oak trees in Central Europe can be explored in the Ivenacker zoo. In the valley of the Tollense you cycle towards Neubrandenburg, the largest city in the Mecklenburg Lake District. The medieval city fortifications are a popular photo motif.
Overnight place: Neubrandenburg
The Tollensesee stretches south of Neubrandenburg. The circular route around the lake is very well developed and offers a varied cycling experience. You will encounter traces of the very popular Prussian Queen Luise on the route to Neustrelitz in Hohenzieritz.
Overnight place: Neustrelitz
The last stage takes you through the Müritz National Park. This extensive forest and lake area on the east bank of the Müritz is a retreat for many endangered animal and plant species, such as white-tailed eagles.
