Overnight place: Zittau

In Ostritz you cycle past the famous St. Marienthal Monastery, the oldest women's monastery of the Cistercian order in Germany, which has existed continuously since it was founded in 1234. You continue cycling to Görlitz with the historic old town, which was almost completely spared from destruction during the Second World War.

You cycle through typical heathland villages and pass Rothenburg on the way. In Bad Muskau, the Fürst-Pückler-Park with its orangery and palace on both sides of the Neisse invites you to visit.

In Forst you can marvel at over 800 varieties of roses in the East German Rose Garden. You cycle through Lower Lusatia with numerous lakes, extensive forests and the typical heath landscape and reach Guben as your daily destination.

The Neisse flows into the Oder shortly after Guben. The highlight of the day is the Neuzelle monastery with the lavish interior of the baroque collegiate church of St. Marien. Via Eisenhüttenstadt, the first "planned city" of the former GDR, you reach the old university town of Frankfurt/Oder.
