Arrival in the cycling city of Oldenburg. In the evening you have the opportunity to explore the charming city center.

Overnight place: Oldenburg

The first stage leads through the Ammerland park landscape to the spa town of Bad Zwischenahn. Enjoy the well-known delicacy: Smoortaal - freshly caught smoked eel "Ammerland style". Via Remels (the highest point in East Frisia at 18 metres!) to Wiesmoor.

Overnight place: Wiesmoor

Through lonely fen settlements you reach the East Frisian capital of Aurich, where the East Frisian chiefs and counts ruled for centuries. along the Ems-Jade Canal drive to Emden. The seaport city was one of the richest port cities in Europe, but never in the Hanseatic League. You then have the opportunity to stroll through the city or visit one of the three museum ships.

Overnight place: Emden

Bike tour to the picturesque fishing village of Greetsiel, the largest shrimp boat port in the WeserEms-Region. Don't miss out on a portion of fresh shrimp. Past the Leybucht - where, with a bit of luck, you can see seals - the path leads north.

Overnight place: North or surrounding areas

The crossing from Norddeich to the island takes about an hour (ferry incl. bike and visitor's tax not included in the price). Alternatively: bike ride along the coast and the Wadden Sea National Park or visit the seal station in Norddeich.

Overnight place: Overnight stay as the day before

Via Dornum to the most beautiful moated castle in East Friesland and further through the marshland to the former East Frisian chief town of Esens. The destination for the day is the town of Wittmund with its unique brick buildings and gallery Dutch mills, as well as the East Frisian way of life.

Overnight place: Wittmund or surrounding areas

From Wittmund you cycle to medieval Jever and on to Gödens Castle. Dangast is the oldest North Sea resort on the Lower Saxony coast and a popular attraction not only for those interested in art.

Winding paths lead to the Jaderberg animal and leisure park, which is one of the largest in Northern Germany with over 600 animals. Pass Rastede, the former summer residence of the Oldenburg counts and dukes, and drive back to the starting point in Oldenburg. Individual return journey or start of your extension
