The Baltic Sea resort of Warnemünde is a district of the Hanseatic city of Rostock and flows into the Warnow River. Here begins the cycling tour on the Baltic Sea Cycle Route, where you shouldn't miss a leisurely stroll along the Alter Strom (Old Stream). The route continues along the high bank path to Wustrow and then on to the artists' colony of Ahrenshoop. Those who love romantic beaches will find what they're looking for at the Weststrand (West Beach). Upon reaching Barth, you cycle along the Bodden (lagoon) to... Stralsund, the city known for its churches and especially the Rügenbridge is known.

On your own initiative. In Rostock, you can expect to see, among other things, St. Mary's Church, and in Warnemünde, the lighthouse, right next to the famous Teepott (Teapot).

Overnight stay: Warnemünde/Rostock

Take the Warnow ferry (included) to Hohe Düne. If you want to learn all about amber, a visit to the Amber Museum in Ribnitz-Damgarten is worthwhile. Nearby, there's also a demonstration apiary where everything revolves around honey. Once you've seen all this, cycle to the Baltic Sea and your hotel on the Fischland peninsula, or stay at your booked hotel in Ribnitz-Damgarten.

Experience the fascination of the Baltic Sea. You cross a part of the national park Vorpommersche Boddenlandschaft.

From the small Bodden and Vineta town of Barth, your trip goes along the Bodden coast to the Strelasund. In Stralsund await you, among other things, the OZEANEUM (own management) and the Marienkirche.

Daily stages that are easy to drive; Tour description absolutely reliable and coherent. Great accommodation, great service, nice staff. Warnemünde Hof, Der Fischländer (Ahrenshoop), Steigenberger (Zingst): very good accommodation, great restaurants, rich breakfast buffets, TOP!!!

Short and long stages

The lengths of the routes were too uneven, the first about 35km, the last about 70km. But we would have liked to have had a night or two more time.

It's a pity that our request for a vegan breakfast didn't come through at any of the hotels, even when we asked directly. Other than that, the tour was cheerful throughout.
