By bike and boat along the Danube - a very special experience, because your "floating hotel" is always with you! You cycle slightly downhill through the impressive Danube landscape and discover the legendary Wachau. And then Vienna - a firework display of sights! A city that can hardly be described, that you simply have to experience! During a city tour by bike, St. Stephen's Cathedral, the town hall or the Ferris wheel are within reach. At the Naschmarkt, a stroll through the market becomes a culinary experience. You can relax in the cozy coffee houses and typical Heurigen in the suburbs. The highlights of the tour: the Schlögener Danube loop, the Wachau and the cosmopolitan city of Vienna with its numerous sights.

Routenverlauf der DON 60

Overnight place: Engelhartszell

The Engelhartszell Abbey is worth a visit, known for its beautifully renovated church and its healing herbal schnapps. Cycle downstream along the former towpath. A special treat is a ride on the nutshell-sized ferry (approx. €7 per person) through the Schlögener Loop. From Aschach, you can take a boat to Linz and then on to Tulln. Tip: Explore the city on the bright yellow City Express.

The Klosterneuburg Monastery is located just outside the gates of Vienna. The dome of the 900-year-old baroque building can be seen from afar, and the "Verdun Altar" is one of the highlights of medieval goldsmithing. From the Heurigen village of Kahlenbergerdorf, it is worth taking a short hike through the vineyards to the viewing terrace of the Kahlenberg. You will be rewarded with a wonderful view of the metropolis.

Today, the sights of the Danube metropolis are on your agenda: Perhaps St. Stephen's Cathedral and the Hofburg, the magnificent Ringstrasse boulevard with the Burgtheater, the State Opera, and City Hall? There are countless possibilities. However, make sure you leave enough time for a stroll or visit one of Vienna's famous cafés. At night, your ship sails to Krems in the Wachau.

Look forward to a cycling tour through one of Europe's most beautiful river landscapes. The gently rolling hills of the Wachau, with its picturesque villages, manicured vineyards, venerable castles, monasteries, and romantic ruins, will enchant you. In Dürnstein, the blue Baroque tower of the abbey church greets you from afar. Finally, in Melk, the magnificent Benedictine abbey towers over the Danube, a place steeped in history, culture, and impressive architecture. Enjoy this day with all your senses; it is one of the highlights of the trip.

This stage takes you through charming river meadows with sweeping views and charming little villages. The wild Strudengau region, once feared by sailors, is a scenically charming region, now a striking river gorge with wooded slopes and rocky banks. In the idyllic town of Grein, Greinburg Castle, imposingly towering over the Danube, awaits you. You can discover Austria's oldest residential castle on a guided tour.

The vast plains of the Machland region will accompany you, with their lush fields and quiet paths. In the Celtic village of Mitterkirchen, you can immerse yourself in a bygone era. Upon arrival in Mauthausen, a visit to the concentration camp memorial is a great opportunity for quiet remembrance and historical responsibility. In the evening, a celebratory farewell dinner awaits you on board. At night, a boat cruise to Engelhartszell.

Once again, enjoy the first rays of sunshine and the peaceful morning tranquility of the Danube Valley on deck. You'll arrive in Engelhartszell around 09:00 a.m. Afterwards, disembark and embark on your own journey home. We recommend booking train connections from Passau from approximately 12:00 p.m.

Taking your own bikes with you: Due to the limited space on the sun deck, bringing your own bike is only possible on request and only to a limited extent. E-bikes only with removable batteries. We exclude all liability for loss, theft, damage - this also applies to transport damage from the ship to land and back.

Timetable and program changes are generally reserved. If, for example, a route cannot be navigated due to low or high water or bad weather, the captain reserves the right to change the route for your safety (this is not a free reason for cancellation). The same applies to lock and/or bridge repairs ordered by the authorities and not announced in advance.

Other information: Please remember that your river boat is not only your "holiday hotel" but also a working tool that moves using motor power and needs to be operated constantly, even at night (sometimes when passing through locks and bridges). We recommend that guests who are particularly sensitive to noise bring earplugs. Disturbances must always be expected when passing through locks.
