Individual arrival in Copenhagen. Embarkation and check-in on board. The crew will welcome you from 17:30 PM on board the ship, which docks near the city center, opposite the Opera House. After you have brought your luggage to your cabin, the captain, tour guide, and crew will invite you to a welcome drink. Afterwards, the first dinner on board will take place. After dinner, the tour guides will discuss the itinerary, and you will learn all about the ship and the safety measures on board. The bicycles will be distributed that evening or the following morning.
During this wonderful sailing and cycling trip on the tall ship Atlantis, you'll discover beautiful cities, small villages, and islands around and within the Øresund – the strait between Denmark and Sweden. The narrow Øresund is an ancient trade route, like the Strait of Gibraltar and the Bosphorus, a strait that has been of great strategic and economic importance for centuries. Charming old harbors and fortified towns lie along its shores. The trip begins in Copenhagen and ends in Malmö: two of the most bike-friendly cities in Europe.
A fuel surcharge of up to 8% of the package price may be levied on this bike and boat tour. The final amount will be determined and communicated 20–30 days before departure. Payment: This arrangement is made directly upon boarding the ship. It is governed by §651f of the German Civil Code (BGB) and serves to adjust for current fuel costs of our service partners.
You disembark the ship and cycle past the Little Mermaid and the Kastellet on quiet cycle paths out of the city, along the Øresund Sound, but also inland through forest areas and beautiful villages. You may even see the ship sailing. About 10 km from Helsingør, the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art is worth a visit. The journey continues to Helsingør, where you reach the historic city center. The harbor is dominated by the imposing
Kronborg Castle dominates, the place Shakespeare had in mind when he wrote Hamlet. Nearby, old harbor buildings have been beautifully restored and house, among other things, a street market and a maritime museum.
After breakfast, you will cycle along the coast of the Danish Riviera with its extensive sandy beaches to the small harbor of Hornbæk. Then you will head inland through a gently rolling landscape to Esrum, where you will stop at the medieval monastery on Lake Esrum. You will then cycle through idyllic wheat fields and past several castles and country houses back to Helsingør, where, after a long descent, you will
reach the historic city center. A shorter version of the bike tour allows you to visit Helsingør in the afternoon. During dinner, the ship crosses the narrow strait to reach Helsingborg on the Swedish coast. Helsingborg is a beautiful old city, but is also considered one of the most innovative in Europe. After dinner, you can take a short walk.
In the morning, you'll cycle along the coast of the Skåne province to the fortress town of Landskrona. Along the way, you'll pass several beaches and the former fishing village of Borstahusen, with its picturesque old fishermen's houses. Landskrona's 16th-century citadel is still almost intact. Shortly after midday, you'll take the ferry to the island of Ven. Explore the tiny (only 7,5 km across) island, which has fewer than 400 inhabitants and is a little gem in the Øresund Sound. You can cycle around the island and visit artists, goldsmiths, cafés, the whiskey distillery, or the 16th-century observatory of the astronomer Tycho Brahe. Since the harbor is too small to accommodate the ship's extensive tour program, the crew will pick you up by dinghy in the late afternoon, and the ship will remain anchored off the coast overnight.
Today, you and your bikes will stay on board. The ship will sail (under sail, weather permitting) from Ven, passing under the Øresund Bridge, to the southern part of Zealand. Enjoy the sailing trip on the deck of the large sailing ship. Your destination is Køge, or you can sail a little further to Rødvig. The exact destination depends on the weather conditions. In Køge, the ship will dock in the harbor, and in Rødvig, it will anchor for the night. Between the two towns lie the imposing white limestone cliffs of Stevns Klint, similar to those in Dover or on the German island of RügenThis sparsely populated area is considered a "dark sky area": on clear nights, the starry sky, once essential for navigation at sea, can be wonderfully observed.
If your cycling tour starts in Rødvig, you will be transferred from the ship to Rødvig by dinghy. Cycle to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Stevns Klint, where you will make a short stop to visit the chalk cliffs, the small town of Højerup, and the Cliff Church. Continue to Køge and take some time to explore the historic center of the medieval town. If your tour starts in Køge, your cycling tour will be longer. You will also visit the chalk cliffs of Stevns Klint and then return to Køge. The ship will pick you up in Køge for an evening cruise to Malmö.
The short, half-day tour takes you past various highlights in the city center and through Malmö's outskirts to breathtaking views of the Øresund Bridge and the city. In the afternoon, you have time to explore Malmö on your own. The longer, full-day tour on quiet country roads takes you to the lively university town of Lund, one of Sweden's oldest cities with over 1000 years of history. Discover the
historic town center and magnificent 12th-century cathedral. On the way back to the ship, you'll cycle along the beautiful coast, where you'll have the opportunity to enjoy an ice cream or take one last dip in the sea! In the evening, enjoy the captain's farewell dinner.
Now your journey is over, but we won't let you leave on an empty stomach. Before you disembark at 9:30 a.m., enjoy a delicious breakfast and say goodbye. Malmö train station is just around the corner: from here you can take a train to the airport or Copenhagen city center.

Important information about the program A Sail & Bike trip: A Sail & Bike trip always involves a bit of adventure, because unfortunately, we can't control the weather! On this trip, only the departure and arrival points are 100% fixed. The captain determines the best route each day and discusses the options with his guests. The crew will strive to keep the program as close to plan as possible. However, departure and departure times are subject to change. Sometimes the program sequence also needs to be adjusted. You may spend more or less time on the water than planned.
Our recommendation: Let the elements guide you and, above all, don't forget to enjoy your holiday! It will certainly be an exciting, varied, and active week with plenty of nature and culture. If possible, we will sail along various routes. If you wish, you can then help the crew with sailing and steering the ship. Sailing experience is not necessary, as long as you follow the crew's instructions attentively.
listen.
The Bringing your own bicycles/e-bikes is not possiblebecause there is not enough space on deck.
Guided cycling: Accompanied by two experienced tour guides, you and your group will visit interesting places and sights on the daily bike tours. You'll learn all about the route and the sights during briefings and along the way. With the free Ride With GPS navigation app and our detailed cycling map (available on board), you can also ride the tours independently and at your own pace. The bike rides on this trip aren't long in themselves, but they do have some elevation gain: some short sections can be more strenuous, and some short stretches are on semi-paved gravel paths.
On some days, you can choose between a longer and a shorter bike tour. Please note that the shorter bike tour may not include all of the highlights mentioned.
