Bike & Boat Passau - Iron Gate - Vienna with the MS Primadonna

A cycling and river cruise through seven countries: From Passau via Vienna, Bratislava, and Budapest to the famous Iron Gates, experience Europe's cultural diversity, magnificent cities, and impressive river landscapes. During the day, cycle along the most beautiful sections of the E6 European Cycle Route; in the evenings, enjoy comfort, culinary delights, and a relaxed atmosphere on board the 4-star superior MS Primadonna.

Individual arrival by train or car. Transfer from Passau main station to the ship. Boarding from approximately 16:30 pm.

Overnight stay in Passau

Handover of rental bikes (if booked). Passing Melk with its imposing abbey and on to the wine-growing villages of Spitz, Dürnstein and Krems (UNESCO World Heritage Site).

Arrival at 8:30 a.m. Optional : Guided walking tour of Bratislava (1 hour). Car-free trip to the Meulensteen cultural island (individual visit to the gallery) and back.

After lunch: Optional : Guided tour of Kalocsa Cathedral and the Baroque Bishop's Palace (1 hour), followed by a car-free drive to the Baroque town of Baja. The ship departs from Baja at 18:00 PM.

Arrival in Belgrade at midday. Optional : City tour including Kalemegdan Fortress (2,5 hours). Cycle along the car-free Sava River cycle path to Ada Ciganlija Island and Savsko Jezero Lake. Return via the same route, possibly continuing across the daring Brankov cycle bridge to Zemun.

Arrival at 10:00 AM. By bicycle to the Turkish fortress of Fetislam and on to a winery near Vrbica/Korbovo. Return to the ship. Passage 120 km, Iron Gates rocky stretch, approximately 19:00 PM (sunset around 20:00 PM).

Golubac (Serbia's largest fortress, visit). After lunch, bike tour from Veliko Gradište, car-free route to Silver Lake/Srebrno Jezero and back; possibly continuing to Ram.

After breakfast, arrival in Novi Sad. A magnificent cityscape, the former capital of southern Hungary. Cycle along the car-free Danube Cycle Path to a wine tasting near Futog. Return. Optional : City tour including Petrovaradin Fortress (3 hours).

Bike tour from Mohács through the Duna-Drava National Park to Kölked (Stork Museum), then on to the Sátorhely Battle Memorial and back.

Optional : City tour by bus (3 hours) in the morning. Bike tour to Margaret Island. Active option : Bike tour to the artists' village of Szentendre (55 km round trip). Departure by boat at 22:00 pm through the festively illuminated Danube metropolis.

From Esztergom/Štúrovo, follow car-free causeway paths through small, idyllic villages like Moča to the fortified town of Komárno. Optional : Visit Monostori Fortress

Arrival around 9:30 a.m. Disembarkation by 10:30 a.m. Return journey by bus* or train to Passau main station or overnight stay in Vienna.

*Return transfer of customer-owned bicycles included during the bus return journey.

General tip for traveling by car

The MS Primadonna boasts generous amenities , including the panoramic restaurant 'Primo Gusto', the panoramic bar 'Primavera', the Danube Arena 'Prima Vista', and the onboard theater 'Primo Theatro', a place for socializing. Heating and air conditioning are available throughout the ship (individually adjustable in the cabins). The third-largest Danube cruise ship is 113,5 meters long and 17,4 meters wide, far surpassing other river cruise ships in terms of spaciousness. There's no feeling of confinement in the corridors, and the public areas – from the restaurant to the bar – offer a wonderful sense of space. The 60-meter-long and 8-meter-wide atrium is a perfect place to gather before meals, read newspapers undisturbed, and enjoy other activities.

Thanks to the striking architecture of the catamaran and the 9-meter-high bow glazing in the Danube Arena between the two hulls, you'll have a view of the Nibelungen River, which flows literally beneath your feet. You'll feel as if you're floating above the water. At reception, a glass floor with integrated lighting offers a glimpse into the underwater world, making your stay on the Primadonna a truly unique experience. On the open deck, you'll find a small whirlpool, sun loungers, sunshades, and comfortable seating areas. The wellness area features a large indoor whirlpool, a Kneipp foot bath, and a sauna. Therapeutic and beauty massages are available by prior arrangement, and an onboard hairdresser completes the offerings.
