Discover the romantic Middle Rhine, the winding MoselStriking rock formations and unspoiled nature. This trip combines two of Germany's most famous Riesling regions with impressive cultural landscapes, historic towns, and varied cycling tours right along the water. You'll follow the Rhine and the Rhine on well-maintained cycle paths. Mosel through a region where Celts once settled and the Romans left clear traces. Your journey starts and ends in Koblenz.

The Middle Rhine Valley is one of the oldest cultural landscapes in Europe and is considered the epitome of Rhine Romanticism. The section between Koblenz and Bingen/Rüdesheim has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2002. Around 40 castles and palaces line the banks, interspersed with vineyards, historic towns, and sweeping views of the river. High above the Rhine rises the Lorelei, one of Germany's most famous rock formations. MainZ, the traditional Roman city, forms the southernmost point of this journey.

The scope of MAP was expanded in two key areas: MoselThe valley captivates with its unique character. The region is known for its Riesling wines, its wine villages, and its steep vineyards. The narrow vineyards are particularly impressive. MoselThe route includes a loop near Bremm and the Calmont, the steepest vineyard in Europe. Along the way, you'll encounter romantic castles, charming villages like Beilstein, and well-known towns such as Cochem with its imposing Reichsburg castle. The boat continues as far as Zell.

Embarkation at 14:00 PM in Koblenz. At 15:00 PM, the ship departs, sailing upstream on the Rhine into the UNESCO World Heritage Upper Middle Rhine Valley to St. Goar. The town is named after Saint Goar, a priest from France who settled here on the Rhine and was particularly known for his hospitality to boatmen, and according to legend, he performed miracles. Overnight accommodation is in St. Goar with a view of Rheinfels Castle, perched high above the town.

Your first cycling tour takes you along the varied Rhine Cycle Route to the Lorelei on the opposite bank of the Rhine. After another ferry crossing, you cycle via Oberwesel, Bacharach, and Trechtingshausen to Bingen. From there, you take the ferry to Rüdesheim. The stretch of the Rhine between St. Goar and Bingen is considered one of the most impressive: narrow, steep, and steeped in history. Besides the Lorelei, you can expect to find castles, churches, historical sites, and tranquil stretches of riverbank with lovely rest areas.

In the morning there might still be time for a stroll through Rüdesheim before you – like the ship – set off for MainToday you have the choice between a flat route along the Rhine and a more challenging route through the vineyards with more elevation gain. The Rhine route leads through a protected nature reserve and the historic wine villages of Oestrich-Winkel and Hattenheim. The more challenging option takes you up to the pilgrimage church in Rüdesheim and on past Johannisberg Monastery and Palace, Vollrads Castle, and Hallgarten to Erbach. Both routes rejoin in Eltville. From there, you cycle along the Rhine, past Biebrich Palace, until you reach... MainThe ship is docked near the old town. After dinner, you can participate in a guided city tour.

Early in the morning, the ship departs and cruises down the Rhine to St. Goar, where your cycling tour begins. Enjoy the views of the Middle Rhine Valley once more while having breakfast. You'll have another opportunity to visit the Lorelei or hike up to Rheinfels Castle. In Boppard, the cable car offers a magnificent view of the wide Rhine bend and the Bopparder Hamm, the largest wine-growing region in the Middle Rhine. Alternatively, you can take a ride on the Hunsrück Railway, Germany's steepest railway line, and then cycle downhill through beautiful countryside. Shortly before Oberlahnstein, near Braubach, you'll see Marksburg Castle perched on a rocky promontory overlooking the Rhine. A visit is highly recommended. After dinner, there will be live music and an opportunity to dance on board.

You leave Oberlahnstein early in the morning. The ship soon passes the Deutsches Eck (German Corner) and continues into the Mosel Your bike tour begins in Lehmen, where the ship makes a brief stop. Today you have a choice of two routes: to the romantic Eltz Castle or to the striking Thurant Castle. You should be in good physical condition for both options. The route to Eltz Castle leads via MoselThe route leads into the Elz Valley and ends with an approximately two-kilometer-long forest path. Those who wish can take the bus in Hatzenport. Thurant Castle in Alken lies on the opposite side and is also accessible by bicycle for more active guests, although the final section involves a path with steps. Afterwards, the route continues via Treis-Karden to Cochem. There you can visit Reichsburg Castle or simply stroll through the narrow streets and stop at one of the many street cafés. After dinner, you have the opportunity to participate in a wine tasting at the renowned Hieronimi winery near the ship.

Today you'll cycle from Cochem to Zell, the furthest destination of this trip. Perhaps you'll take some time in Cochem this morning before you continue on. Mosel Follow the signs towards Bremm. There you can drive up to a viewpoint and enjoy the view of the Calmont and the narrow... MoselEnjoy the loop. The route continues through the typical MoselThe landscape extends to the picturesque village of Beilstein. The day's destination is Zell, famous for its "Zeller Schwarze Katz" wine. More athletic cyclists can tackle the climb to Marienburg Monastery after Alf and enjoy a beautiful view of Zell and the surrounding countryside. MoselReward the loop. Overnight stay in Zell.

Very early in the morning, the ship departs from Zell to Lehmen. There, you disembark during a short stop and begin your final bike tour back to Koblenz. The route leads through the historic wine villages of Kobern-Gondorf and Winningen, where the first German wine festival was once held. Along the way, you will once again be accompanied by steep vineyards and typical wine country scenery. MoselLandscapes. In Koblenz, there is ample time to explore the old town or take the panoramic gondola up to Ehrenbreitstein Fortress with your bicycle. In the late afternoon, the ship returns to Koblenz, where your journey began.

Your journey ends after breakfast with disembarkation at 9:00 am.
