Embarkation and check-in between 14:00 p.m. and 16:30 p.m. in Amsterdam. Take the opportunity to explore the city center, go shopping, take a canal cruise or visit a museum. Welcome drink and safety instructions at 17:00 p.m. First dinner and tour briefing on board. First overnight stay in Amsterdam.
The ship "Arkona" offers you the ideal accommodation for your trip through South Holland. During this trip you will not only have the opportunity to visit numerous famous Dutch cities south of Amsterdam, but you will also discover other surprising sides of Holland, for example when you cycle through the wonderful landscape, the "Green Heart" of the country: a water-rich environment with lush meadows, grazing cows, windmills and traditional farms... a landscape that couldn't be more Dutch.

The first bike tour starts in Breukelen. You cycle along the magically winding river Vecht, whose banks are lined with impressive castles, stately villas and special tea houses. You follow the Vecht to the center of Utrecht, where you can visit the beautiful city center of this historic city: the cathedral with its high tower, canals, special shops and quaint pubs. In the afternoon you continue your tour by boat from Utrecht to Rotterdam.
Today you cycle via the Jeneverstadt Schiedam and through the Delfland region to Delft, which is famous for its “Delft Blue” porcelain. Visit the beautiful city center with its small canals, picturesque streets, bridges and avenues. For many guests, a visit to the Delft Porcelain Factory is one of the highlights of this tour. Later you will return to Rotterdam, where a short walking tour of the city will be offered in the evening.
Today you can either cycle or take the “water bus” to Alblasserdam in about 40 minutes. From here it is only a few minutes by bike to Kinderdijk (a UNESCO World Heritage Site with 19 large windmills standing in a row). Afterwards you can choose between a longer bike tour with a visit to the beautiful cheese town of Gouda or a shorter tour through the Alblasserwaard polder. Both tours end in the silver town.
Schoonhoven, where you can visit a silversmith. *On some departures, an overnight stay in Schoonhoven on day 4 is not possible. The ship docks in the cheese town of Gouda instead. All cycling highlights remain on the program.
Today you cycle from Schoonhoven through the charming "Green Heart" past small villages and along quiet paths and country roads to Utrecht. On the way you can visit a traditional cheese farm and the Witches' Weighing House in Oudewater. In the late afternoon the ship sails from Utrecht to Haarlem.
Today there are two cycling tours to choose from. Both tours lead through the magical Kennemer Dunes, a nature reserve with many birds, Scottish Highland cattle and Shetland ponies. After visiting the seaside resorts of Bloemendaal aan Zee and Zandvoort, you cycle through forests and the center of Haarlem back to the ship. On the slightly longer tour, the route also takes you to the historic DeCruquius pumping station, the largest steam engine in the world. During dinner, the ship sails to Zaandam.
* For departures between 27 March and 2 May: From Haarlem it is possible to visit the famous tulip exhibition "Keukenhof" near Lisse (by bike or public transport; travel costs and entrance fee "Keukenhof" are not included).
On your last day of cycling, you will cycle from Zaandam to the open-air museum “Zaanse Schans” (free entry), an old, traditional village with quaint wooden houses, a cheese factory, a traditional clog maker and various windmills. Then you cycle back to Amsterdam via the Twiske recreation area. Here you have the whole afternoon and evening to look around Amsterdam. If you haven’t seen anything on the first day,
If you have already taken a canal tour, you can now do so.
