In spring, the Netherlands is simply beautiful! On this eight-day trip, you'll explore the provinces of North and South Holland by bike and boat while the spring flowers are in full bloom. This is the time of year when tulip fields glow in countless colors, thousands of daffodils compete with the sun, and the hyacinth fields exude their wonderfully sweet fragrance. But this region has much more to offer. Be amazed by the enormous diversity of the landscapes and the historic cities of Amsterdam, Alkmaar, and Haarlem, and experience the beautiful surroundings up close on your relaxing bike tours.

fuel surcharge

A fuel surcharge of up to 8% of the package price may be levied on this bike and boat tour. The final amount will be determined and communicated 20–30 days before departure. Payment: This arrangement is made directly upon boarding the ship. It is governed by §651f of the German Civil Code (BGB) and serves to adjust for current fuel costs of our service partners.

Die MS De Nassau am Liegeplatz

At 13:30 PM, the crew will welcome you on board and check you in. After the safety briefing, the ship will set course for the IJsselmeer. Our first destination is Hoorn.

West Friesland awaits you with spectacular colors! The region is considered the second largest tulip region in the Netherlands. We've planned two beautiful cycling routes through the colorful flower fields for you. Thanks to the semi-guided concept of this tour, you can cycle at your own pace and stop for photos as you please.

Your ship departs early in the morning. While you enjoy breakfast, your floating hotel will take you to the famous fishing village of Volendam, where your cycling tour begins. You'll cycle through the landscape of Waterland, north of Amsterdam. Hundreds of small canals and numerous bridges dominate the view as you cycle from one picturesque village to the next. The cycling tour ends at the Zaanse Schans open-air museum. Here, you can admire the typical wooden houses of the Zaan region and still-working windmills. You can also watch traditional craftsmen like the wood shoemaker, the miller, and the cheesemaker at work. Zaanse Schans is more than just an open-air museum. The romantic wooden houses are actually still inhabited today.

Today's bike tour takes you to the beautiful tulip fields north of Alkmaar, then to the seaside resort of Egmond aan Zee, beautifully situated in the dunes near the North Sea. The sandy beach is one of the most beautiful in the Netherlands and is perfect for a stroll, a dip in the sea, or simply enjoying the view. Nearby, you'll find the charming artists' village of Bergen, which you should definitely visit. Both locations are close to the North Holland Dune Reserve, a 5.300-hectare forest and dune area with unique landscapes. You'll return to the ship in Alkmaar for dinner.

In the morning, you'll cycle to Egmond-Binnen and then to Limmen. In this village, you'll visit the Hortus Bulborum, a unique museum garden dedicated to the preservation of rare and historic flower bulbs. Some of the more than 3.500 tulips, daffodils, hyacinths, and other flowers planted here are almost extinct in the rest of the world. Your bike tour continues through colorful tulip fields and finally brings you back to
Zaandam. Your ship awaits you here, and you board for a leisurely afternoon cruise to Haarlem. It docks very close to the city center. This is the perfect opportunity to visit the exceptionally beautiful historic city center in the late afternoon or after dinner. The Grote Markt and St. Bavo's Church are absolutely stunning.

Today's cycling route takes you through the oldest tulip fields in all of Holland to the Keukenhof tulip park. This bulb-filled park is a single, overwhelming sea of color, made up of seven million blooming tulips and many other flowers. They are located in a magnificent 80-hectare site with traditional and modern garden architecture. In the afternoon, you cycle back to the ship in Haarlem.

Your final bike ride takes you back to Amsterdam, cycling through beautiful, green countryside before reaching the west of the city. Spend the afternoon exploring more of this amazing city. Visit the flower market on the canals in the center, stroll through Vondelpark, visit a museum, or take in the hustle and bustle of Amsterdam while relaxing at a sidewalk café. We're sure there's something interesting for everyone in this vibrant city. For those who'd like to end the day with a canal cruise, we offer tickets at a discounted price (book in advance).
