Learn moreThe UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Upper Middle Rhine Valley is a paradise for romantics. Follow the Rhine through a charming hilly landscape where aristocratic builders commissioned numerous castles and palaces, and where lovingly restored half-timbered houses characterize the old town streets. At the same time, you will experience a landscape that reveals itself as wildly romantic and remains the home of many legends, such as that of the Lorelei. Your journey from MainThe journey to the cathedral city of Cologne is, not least, a journey rich in culinary delights. Grapes for magnificent wines thrive along the Rhine, and the local cuisine is every bit as skilled as the winegrowers.

Today, the Rhine and its surrounding area will show you why the Upper Middle Rhine Valley is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Beautiful Rhine islands, steep slate cliffs, and vineyards characterize the region around Rüdesheim. The cycling route takes you past Eltville, with its Electoral Castle, and Oestrich-Winkel, whose landmark is a historic wine-loading crane, before arriving in Rüdesheim. A visit to the famous Drosselgasse is highly recommended.
Today you'll cycle along the Rhine through the Upper Middle Rhine Valley, passing romantic castles and castle ruins. These include Reichenstein and Rheinstein castles. The famous Lorelei rock also lies on your route to St. Goar, today's destination. From the rock, you'll have a magnificent view of St. Goar and St. Goarshausen.
Boppard and Marksburg Castle are possible stops on your way to Koblenz with its famous Deutsches Eck (German Corner), where the Mosel flows into the Rhine. A fantastic view of the magnificent Rhine landscape can be enjoyed from Ehrenbreitstein Fortress, which is easily accessible by cable car.
The route takes you past Neuwied with its Engers Castle to Andernach, your destination for today. Like Koblenz, Andernach is considered one of the oldest cities in Germany. Its famous feature is the cold-water geyser, which, with its 50- to 60-meter-high water jet, is considered the tallest in the world. Explore historic Andernach with sights such as the Round Tower, or visit the wine village of Leutesdorf, which can be reached by ferry from Andernach.
On the way to Bonn, a visit to Drachenburg Castle on the Drachenfels (steep climb) in Königswinter is worthwhile. Finally, you reach Bonn. The former capital of West Germany presents itself as both charmingly Rhineland and cosmopolitan. Numerous global organizations are still headquartered here, contributing to the international flair of Beethoven's city.
Before reaching Cologne by bike, a pleasant break on the "leisure island" Groov, nestled in the expansive Rhine meadows of the Cologne district of Porz-Zündorf, is highly recommended, weather permitting. Once in Cologne, you should take some time for a stroll through the Old Town. Perhaps you'll also visit one of the numerous museums and explore modern Cologne, such as the Rheinauhafen harbor with its iconic crane houses. For a more relaxed atmosphere, the city can be enjoyed, for example, in Cologne's breweries, where you can sample the city's famous Kölsch beer.
Disembarkation after breakfast at 09:00 AM. Departure on your own.

The spacious sun deck with ample seating invites you to relax and offers beautiful views of the passing landscape.
Embarkation from 16:00 PM, disembarkation at 9:00 AM.
Minimum number of participants: 80 people, required 21 days prior to arrival
Bringing your own bicycle: Due to limited space on the sun deck, bringing your own bicycle is only possible upon request and subject to availability. We exclude all liability for loss, theft, or damage – this also applies to damage incurred during transport from the ship to shore and back.
Excursion program: Bookable exclusively on board. A brief description will be provided with your travel documents. Depending on the group composition, excursions may be offered bilingually in German and English.
Schedule and program changes are always possible. If, for example, a section of the route cannot be navigated due to low or high water levels or bad weather, the captain reserves the right to change the route for your safety (this is not grounds for a free cancellation). The same applies to lock and/or bridge repairs ordered by authorities and not announced in advance.
Other information: Please bear in mind that your riverboat is both your "holiday hotel" and a working vessel that moves using engine power and requires constant operation, including at night (sometimes involving lock and bridge passages). We recommend that particularly noise-sensitive guests bring earplugs. Lock passages are disruptive and unfortunately cannot be avoided.
Route profile: mostly on paved cycle paths and embankments or quiet country roads without any significant inclines, suitable for leisure cyclists and beginners
Available on board (limited quantity): Bicycle helmet (UVEX I-VO) €45 each, mobile phone holder €10 each, power bank (10.000 mAh) €20 each
