Welcome to the UNESCO World Heritage Upper Middle Rhine Valley! The beautiful first cycle route takes you through gentle vineyard slopes and well-known wine-growing towns. Here the Rhine still flows leisurely, forming small romantic islands and expanding its bed to a width of up to 800 m! Visit the half-timbered town of Eltville, which is worth seeing, and plan a detour (+ 14 km) to Eberbach Monastery. In Rüdesheim you should take the opportunity to taste wine, stroll through the world-famous Drosselgasse or take a relaxing ride on the cable car up to the Niederwald Monument.
Overnight place: Rudesheim
From Rüdesheim to Bingen you use the Rhine ferry and then continue on the well-developed cycle path to Bacharach. In these 16 km alone you will pass the Mouse Tower, the Rheinstein and Reichenstein castles as well as Sooneck and Hohneck castles and also the Fürstenberg ruins. Everywhere is worth a stop and in Bacharach you should climb the city wall before finally rolling into St. Goar. Here you should then climb the Loreley.
