Surprising island

The hikes were very long (too long for us) so we had to do parts of the track by bus. There was a lot of information so we had to make too many choices every day. So it was not conveniently arranged. The maps were very usefull.

Rügen hike a dream

We, two 60+ from Holland have a dream hike over the beautiful Rügen The boat trip to Hiddensee and in the afternoon to Breege as well as the hike across Hiddensee were a first highlight. Cape Arkona, Königsstuhl, Binz and Sellin were further highlights. The travel description was very detailed and complete. The hotels were good to very good. Perfect organization. Highly recommended. Unfortunately, the journey was very long for us, around 700 km.

Hike Rügen/Hiddensee from 20.-27.05.2017

We (2 adults, 1 dog) felt very comfortable from the beginning. The travel documents provided offered everything you needed to find out about the suggested routes. The routes could also be transferred to a smartphone with a little initiative. The individual hiking guide in booklet form, which even shows the routes from each individual hotel, e.g. to the jetty in Stralsund offered was really helpful. Telephone numbers, alternative routes for bad weather, train/bus/boat alternatives are shown. We started our first hiking holiday with a very good feeling. From the overview of the hotels that were accessible to the luggage tags, everything was there. The luggage transport always went smoothly. We couldn't have booked the hotels better individually (cheaper category). When we had a query on site, help was immediately given by the telephone number provided. All third-party companies knew immediately about it because we presented vouchers for boat/taxi rides, or already had our name on their list (Taxi Glowe-Hagen). I can only say that it was an absolutely successful week. Even the weather was perfectly organized. So all that remains for me to give the full number of stars in all areas (I'll ignore bike quality when it comes to hiking). Thank you for this great experience and week.

Rügen Hiking WAN-01-16

The second hiking tour with you was also very well prepared (apart from a few minor details, e.g. "Waldhalle", and the note that you have to hurry on Hiddensee if you want to see everything. The hotels, including breakfast, were generally very good to good. Only in the Hotel "Xenia" was our room no. 2 on the ground floor above the restaurant (cooking smell) with a loud extractor unbearable.

Nice round trip

Nice round trip Rügen by all means of transport: ferry to and from Hiddensee, taxi from Glowe to Hagen, bus from Sassnitz to Prora, train from Putbus to Stralsund … The tours are well chosen, unfortunately sometimes a little too long for us (>20 km). On some stretches (from Juliusruh to Kap Arkona and from Binz to Putbus) we had to watch out for cyclists. There were not only a lot of them, but also some very unfriendly ones who would have liked to run us over. Appropriate signs asking cyclists to watch out for hikers and hikers to walk on the left (or right) edge (see StVo) would be helpful. The speed at which some cyclists (with eBikes) ride is worrying and dangerous, especially on the bends. The hike along Stresower Bucht was therefore strenuous, except for the small stretch through the forest where no cyclists were allowed. No room had a sea view - Scheelehof in Stralsund: small room, great breakfast, great dinner, very friendly staff (grade 1) - Atrium Hotel in Juliusruh: large room, but very basic; the superior feature was incomprehensible, but the location was great: you can quickly reach the long and lonely beach (grade 3) - spa hotel in Sassnitz: very small room with no space to open your suitcase, no heating in the bathroom (grade 2-) - Strandhotel Arkona in Binz: large room, on the 4th floor, large buffet, suitcase found in the room (grade 2)
