Individual arrival in the council city with its many sights. Visit the Rosgarten Museum and linger in its inviting café.

Overnight place: Konstanz

In picturesque Gottlieben you cross the border and arrive on the Swiss side in the beautiful town of Stein am Rhein. Take your time to visit the Lindwurm Museum. An impressive ride along the High Rhine takes you to Gailingen. A highlight is the Rhine crossing from Diessenhofen to Gailingen with the historic wooden bridge from 1816.

Overnight place: Stein am Rhein region

Immerse yourself in the magic of the Munot city of Schaffhausen today. A unique city with medieval facades, magnificent 171 oriels and winding streets. The Rhine cycle path then takes you to the next highlight. Don't miss the impressive natural phenomenon of the Rhine Falls. At 23 meters high and 150 meters wide, it is one of the largest waterfalls in Europe.

Overnight place: Stein am Rhein region

The Höri peninsula lies between Stein am Rhein and Radolfzell. Numerous artists such as Otto Dix, Hermann Hesse and Helmuth Macke have given it the name "Artist Landscape". The Hesse Museum in Gaienhofen, the Hermann Hesse House and the Museum Haus Dix pay tribute to the once famous residents. End the day with a stroll through the old town of Radolfzell.

Overnight place: Radolfzell/Bodman region

Pass picturesque Sipplingen and the monastery church of Birnau. In Unteruhldingen we recommend a visit to the pile dwelling museum. Meersburg, the city of museums invites you into the Middle Ages with its romantic corners. The sea route takes you through vineyards and fruit trees to Friedrichshafen with the Zeppelin Museum.

Overnight place: Friedrichshafen region

Today you reach the Bodensee metropolis Lindau, the border triangle between Germany, Austria and Switzerland. You will then reach the cultural stronghold of Bregenz. Stroll through the old town or take the cable car to the 1064 m high Pfänder and enjoy the unique view of Lake Constance. You reach Höchst through the nature reserve of the Rhine delta, the largest freshwater delta in Europe.

Overnight place: Bregenz/ Hoechst

You cycle through the Rhine delta to Switzerland. A fantastic view of Lake Constance and the impressive foothills of the Alps accompany you to Konstanz. In the Sea Life Center you dive into the fascinating underwater world and discover the jungle and the rain forest. You can shorten the route by approx. 21 km by taking the train from Romanshorn to Constance (on your own).

Bicycle tour BOD-01 2015

Overall, we were very satisfied with the organization of the round trip (because of the nice weather) and the accommodation offered. We would have 2 points of criticism, on the one hand the accommodation in Radolfzell (Hotel Krone): the room was okay, only the view of the backyard was terrible. The 4th stage, from Uhldingen-Mühlhofen to Bregenz, is peppered with sights so that due to the length of the route you have little time to take in everything in peace. We drove to Meersburg the day before to get to know this place (1,5 hours is not much time) and cycled back in the evening. We experienced a highlight of the overnight stays in Egnach, Landgasthof Seelust. We felt comfortable there from the first minute, we were welcomed with great warmth and care. In Constance (Gasthof Linde), the owner recommended a perfect cycle path through the city bicycle bridge over the Rhine to the border! We ignored the tour description (no relaxed cycling), but always followed the cycling arrows - for us it was wonderfully marked. In addition, the "bikeline" Lake Constance cycle path brochure, for a rough overview and with very good information on the individual sights! Kind regards, Monika and Hartmut Pfuhl
