Round trip Palatinate

Today you will cycle first Neckar along to Ladenburg. and soon reach Mannheim with the Baroque castle, which is worth seeing. You then cycle along the banks of the Rhine past the harbor facilities and reach the imperial city of Worms.

Overnight place: Worms

You leave the cathedral, Luther and Nibelungen city of Worms and reach the famous wine route. The mild climate allows not only wine but also exotic fruits such as lemons and figs to thrive here. The destination for the day is Bad Dürkheim with the Dürkheimer Riesenfass, alternatively Deidesheim or Neustadt.

Along the Weinstrasse you can treat yourself to hearty Palatinate cuisine in the restaurants. Visit the Salian Imperial Cathedral in Speyer, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

You cycle in the Rhine plain and circumvent extensive arms of the Old Rhine. In Germersheim, the mighty historic fortress and its many beautiful alleys await your discovery before you head back to Speyer.

Along the Electoral Palatinate Route you reach the asparagus town of Schwetzingen. The park of the famous hunting and pleasure palace is one of the most beautiful gardens of the Baroque and Rococo periods. Enjoy a ride on the mountain railway in Heidelberg and visit the world-famous castle (incl.).

Overnight place: Heidelberg

This varied tour takes you along the mountain road to the two-castle town of Weinheim. The old town with its historic buildings invites you to linger. Most beautiful Neckar along it goes back to Heidelberg.
