A hiking adventure in the heart of Switzerland! The high-altitude hikes around Lake Lucerne are real pearls that are worth discovering. First there are panoramic views over the Renggpass, then on to Nidwalden with wonderful views of Lake Uri and the Rigi. After crossing the lake basin, you climb the “Queen of the Mountains” and dream of the mountain panoramas of the past few days in Rigi Kaltbad.
Travel individually to Lucerne, a city that enchants with its picturesque location on Lake Lucerne and the impressive mountain backdrop of Pilatus and Rigi. Your journey takes you to the heart of Switzerland, where historical sights, charming old town streets and a lively cultural scene await you.
The stage leads over the Horwer Peninsula to the foot of Mount Pilatus. Crossing over the Renggpass, which was the only land connection to Obwalden until the Brünigstrasse was built in the 1860s.
To Dallenwil and take the cable car up to Niederrickenbach. This stage leads on the well-known “wildlife observation trail” along the mountain flanks of Schwalmis and Oberbaren to Niedermachen or the mountain station of the cable car of the same name.
Down to the lakeshore and through the cooling gorge to Lake Uri - via the riverside road to Risleten and ascent through the attractive Risleten gorge. Crossing the Stützberg along the historic path to Volligen and arriving at Rütli, with views of Lake Uri. From here boat trip to Brunnen.
Cable car ride up to Urmiberg. Now continue to the Gätterli Pass and on well-developed paths past Rigi Scheidegg to Kaltbad.
Steeply downhill to Seebodenalp, one of the most beautiful viewing terraces in the Swiss foothills of the Alps. Give yourself a break, the steep descent is a bit tiring. If you want, you can shorten the last few kilometers by taking the cable car to Küssnacht am Rigi. After arrival in Küssnacht am Rigi, boat trip to Lucerne.
