Stroll through Saarbrücken with its French flair, marvel at the fine confectionery shops, the St. Johann market with many pubs, bistros and restaurants, the old baroque houses and noble antique shops. An early arrival is worthwhile, the rental bikes are already at the hotel.
Overnight place: Saarbrücken
You cycle quickly on the Saar cycle path through the former coal mining area to Völklingen. You simply have to make a stop here, because the “Völklinger Hütte” is currently one of 33 UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Germany! A visit to the Völklinger Hütte is like an adventure: you go deep into the dark corridors of the Möllerhalle and up to the viewing platform at the blast furnace. You then follow the well-developed Saar cycle path through the beautiful Merziger Land to the impressive Saar loop near Mettlach. Swap your bike for hiking boots and walk up to the “Cloef” viewpoint. Only 30 minutes and the view of the Saar loop is simply breathtaking!

Today you cycle comfortably along the Saar cycle path through a wooded area to Saarburg, where the castle towers majestically above its winding streets. Guided by the traces of the Romans, you cycle via Konz to Trier. Look forward to an individual tour of the historic city center, the imperial baths and the Porta Nigra.

There is a lot to see today Mosel-Cycle path: in Mehring the ruins of the Villa Rustica, in Trittenheim an educational wine trail that provides information about the working year of a winemaker, local grape varieties and vine cultivation. And Neumagen-Dhron is the oldest wine town in Germany!

So famous MoselCities like Bernkastel-Kues and Traben-Trarbach and the well-known wine-growing region “Kröver Nakedarsch” crown today. Marvel at the colorful, diverse half-timbered buildings on the picture book market square in Bernkastel-Kues, and enjoy the architectural treasures of Art Nouveau and the Belle Époque in Traben-Trarbach.

Today you will discover Enkirch, a jewel of Moselle half-timbered architecture, and Zell, the wine town with the “Zeller Schwarzen Katz”. Take a worthwhile break in the small town of Beilstein, which proudly bears the nickname “Rothenburg an der Mosel“ and look forward to Cochem with its picturesque center and the old Reichsburg.

Today, a detour to the medieval Eltz Castle lures before the Mosel-The cycle path takes you to wine villages worth seeing such as Kobern-Gondorf and Winningen and finally to the Deutsches Eck. Enjoy the wide view of the beautiful Rhine Valley and look forward to a beautiful evening in Koblenz.
