Bike tour SMR 51635 from 16.06. - 23.06.2012//

Attn: Ms. Beate Eberl (our contact person before the trip) First of all, thank you very much for the preparation of this trip. We received the documents in good time and were able to prepare well for the trip. It was a PT tour and was organized by ***. We have not met any of these people. Everything - bicycle handover etc. - was conveyed by the hotel staff, but always competently! The accommodations waren flawless. Since we are rural, it would have been nice if the accommodations had been reserved in wine-growing villages rather than in larger towns, there would have been offers. Regarding the bikes: I'm attaching a picture with an "original - *** - bike". These bikes run well, but lack any comfort, i.e. suspension. We are used to something different from the "Mecklenburg tours"! Almost all cycle paths on the SMR - Tour have a solid surface. On the one hand, a lot of concrete slabs, each with uneven transverse grooves, then a lot of paving stones, often quite uneven, and finally, especially along tree-lined avenues, tar coverings, which are partly raised by tree roots. It wouldn't all be so bad if the bike were equipped with suspension (no longer an optional extra nowadays). The "bumping" all day was quite tedious, bike rental accordingly too high! Otherwise we spent a very nice week on the Saar and Mosel. Kind regards Hansgeorg Bührer If we stay healthy, we will spend the next bike tour on the North or Baltic Sea again!
- Bührer Hansgeorg
